Strawberry-yoghurt, overripe pineapple and that telltale Grand Arôme glue-and-solvent edge — this Savanna runs full-on ester from nose to finish. Several tasters flag artificial strawberry bubblegum that arrives late and brief. At 64% the alcohol bites but most found it well integrated, with light wood, anise and spice in a long, dry finish. Loved by GA fans; a few rate it a notch below Savanna's top tier.

#4952 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Intense, light wood, solvents, light medicinal, faint olive, nutty, plum, light citrus. Palate Intense, warm, light wood, faint roasted, berries, light licorice, light coffee, dry, light plum, raisin. Finish Long and warm, wood, light tannins, dry, dried fruit, light coffee, anise, cherry. This one also needs to rest for a while to really settle properly.

Little Savanna GA & HERR cross tasting: Quite some notes from the cask (cognac I‘d guess) and some delicate ester notes. Nicely balanced fruity and woody notes. Very nice. Nicely balanced on the palate as well. Wood and fruits are mingling. Very tasty. Very good alcohol integration makes this very enjoyable.

Tohle se povedlo, jantarová barva, pěkně vyvážená chuť jahod v jogurtu, ananasu a esterů. Grand Arome bývají sázky na jistotu a zde ta kombinace se smetanovo jahodovou chutí to platí dvojnásob. Zatím asi nejlepší co jsem od SES pil.

A round nose of bourbon vanilla screams out from the very first olfactory contact, followed on the palate by a beautiful romance between pastry notes, toasty aromas and a lovely gourmandise... a real pleasure!

Pas de doute, c'est bien un grand arôme. Le nez est plutôt élégant pour 64°, sur le bonbon arlequin. La bouche est davantage explosive avec un étonnant arôme de yaourt à la fraise. La finale est moyenne et sur la continuité. Bien mais pas extraordinaire. Le nez est mieux que la bouche.
