#4519 09.12.2023 Pretty nice release as well. Medium fruity with nice balance. The palate is warm and fresh with fruits. The finish is medium long and fresh with a light cherry note. The empty glass has a light flower note.

Clairin Vaval Ansyen bottled for Last Port in Poland. I'll say it already, there are still some of these bottles available here and there, if I had the space I would take them all. The nose opens on honey, something I had in the non aged version, but here in much more intense way. It's very sweet in many different way, but all natural sweetness. I think of honey, honeycomb, candied fruits, as well as a hint of cacao (reminds me a bit of Mhoba here). Getting deeper I find the classic other Vaval aromas, vegetables and tomatoes. In the mouth it's still sweet but the honey is fighting against the vegetable aromas in an interesting balance. The final is surprisingly slightly shorter than the unaged version, it's sweet and slightly floral, still with vegetables in the background. I absolutely love this rum, it might be one of my favorite clairin among all. It's sweet but never overly sweet, and not in the way rums usually are. Not for everyone again, like most clairins, but if you're into it you must try that one. Price-quality wise it's very hard to beat.

Wonderful masterclass with Daniele Biondi. It was great to try to whole range. The story of Clairin and Haiti 🇭🇹 is absolutely amazing. It is a privilege to be able to try such a pure product at home. Francois fraire cask, cognac. Only one of that type of the cask shipped to Haiti. Spirit of vaval?
