A nice surprise, a pleasant drink, alcohol well integrated. Top

Eventuell das falsche Wort, aber noch der “angenehmste” der Reihe. Wer immer die Idee für diese Reihe hatte, sollte seinen Job abgeben.

Here is the obviously better of the 4 barrels bottled. 50 yo or only partially, no matter. Something special these are in any case. Nose: pleasantly strong again, but still heavy and round. Fruitier than cask #22, with dried apricot added to the dark, sweetly inlaid cherry. Behind that, lots of caramel with vanilla and sweet nougat. Pipe tobacco and cherry wood come in as well as tonka bean and molasses. Liked. 8,5 Palate: oh, noticeably sweeter than #22. Brown, burnt caramel with vanilla. Sweet, slightly licoricey treacle, tonka bean and pecan. Pickled cherry and soft prune. But also flavored pipe tobacco and cherry wood. Very dense and again chocolaty. 8.4 Overall, an old rum with dense body. Chocolatey-sweet. Almost too sweet on the palate for me.

Franconian Tasting Gang If only with cola and ice. Edit: Unfortunately I have to retract this statement. I think it's pretty much the only rum and coke I've ever thrown away because I couldn't get it down.

Phew, I really expected more. Regardless of the data of the rum, which sound interesting at first, quite "sober" considered: Definitely the best of the series! The taste is not bad at all with chocolate, caramel, some barrel. Could also be a rum from Panama. Here you notice something the age.

Clearly better than the other 3

Good rum, the nose is very pungent, very intense, also quite alcoholic. There are also light notes of chocolate (dark) and caramel. On the palate you can also taste caramel and dark chocolate.

Yes, this is the best of the four rums in the small series. It's probably due to the higher ABV. The rum is somewhat fuller-bodied and more aromatic than the other three. But it won't be my favorite either. Edit: I made a small blend from the leftover samples of the four Ecuadorians (i.e. tipped them together). Tastes better than any of the four individually! 😊 (but without rating)

Leider konnte keines der vier Fässer überzeugen. Vielen zu süß, viel zu flach und von der angeblichen langen Lagerzeit nichts zu merken.

Unfortunately disappointing. In my opinion, it is completely overpowering, the oxidation has taken over and a musty, herbal note has become dominant, which robs me of any drinking pleasure. Regrettable.

#4586 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit This one is not that good in my mind. Can't put my finger on it but maybe a bad barrel or stored for too long in the wrong location. Nose Wood, roasted, sweet, fruits, light caramel. Palate Medium dry, sweet, wood, roasted, fruits, faint caramel. Finish Medium long, wood, roasted, sweet, light cherry.
