With this rum you get bang for your buck. Lots of flavour in a well balanced rum at a nice ABV. Fruity and sweet as it always is with Malecon and also the wood and spices. I'm not sure, but I think I sensed a hint of leather in there as well Price to quality is very good.
Review by Stefan Persson
I’m not a big fan of the Spanish styled Ron, but I like the Rare Proof series from Malecon. I believe it depends on the rich taste and that the sweetness is very good balanced with the quite high ABV. This one isn’t the best of them, but certainly a very good one anyway.
Review by Tim
This rum from Panama is very similar to the sweet rums from the Dominican Republic. Very fruity and caramel nose, with an inevitable smoky note. In the mouth sweet, mild and round, the 50% is not noticeable. However, the mouthfeel is not really complex: sweet, smoky and some fruit. Overall impression nevertheless quite good, especially the price-quality ratio.

Crassly good rum for this price! Beautiful dried fruit, lots of freshness, well-integrated sweetness and pleasant finish. Gladly again!
