#4590 26-27.01.2024 Hanse Spirit Thinking about the price tag you get a lot for your money with this release. A fruity yet well balanced rum. Nose Fresh, wood, light smoke, fruits, spice, floral, sugarcane, light earthy notes. Palate Wood, light smoke, fruits, floral, spice, light herbs and earthy notes. Finish Medium long, wood, dried fruit, light mint.

So far the most rounded of the cask matured baie des Tresors rums for me. Really great nose of roasted Piedmont hazelnuts, banana and peach. The taste is spicy, dry, woody but still with a nice fruitiness. Round thing!

8:On the nose , the first impression is fresh, elegant and complex. A pinch of pepper with the fresh cane juice, fruity with red fruits, indeed a very nice agricole, soon tinged with a tasty woodiness and some medicinal, roasted notes. With aeration, the woody entrusts only what is necessary to the cane, pairing in nice choreography, the rum becomes more roasted, caramelized, with burnt sugar, nutty, there are dried fruits and bourbon touch, grassy with some smoky resinous whiffs. 8,2:On the palate, it is a complex and tasty agricole. The sugar cane is juicy, soft, waxy, woody, with menthol, citrus and red, candied fruits, is resinous, with a hint of roasting and pleasant spiciness. We can notice some iodine later on, banana after well rested. 8:The finish is very, by the book, rhum agricole, fresh with candied lime peel, minty, pepper, woody, a bit dry, but very pleasant and round...

Tasted this, the first aged rum from BdT, Agricole at the Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s distilled in 2020 at Saint James/J.Bally distillery in Martinique. The nose is complex, rich, sweet, woody, smoky, vegetal, and fruity with scents of marshmallow, flowers, tobacco, dried fruit, vanilla and coconut. At the palate it’s complex, fruity, roasted, dry, fresh, spicy with flavors of dried fruit, citrus, tannins, tobacco and anise. The finish is rather long.

For a VO, this rum has a lot to offer. On the nose, the watts are higher than on other classic vintages, with an assertive agricultural side to spices, oak and more vegetal notes. Sugar cane, coconut, banana and hazelnut bring balance to the olfactory force present. The result is full-bodied, contrasting yet highly expressive. The attack on the palate is driven by spices (vanilla, pepper, nutmeg) that pave the way for wood, tobacco and dried fruit. The earthiness and herbaceousness of agricultural rums is fairly discreet, and works well with the sugarcane and citrus notes. On the palate, a slight smokiness gently emerges. The alcohol is well integrated into this dry, intense profile. The long, drying finish returns to woody, spicy, tobacco and smoky notes. Dried fruit and sugarcane are not left out either. A very pleasant rum with excellent value for money. A brand to keep a close eye on for years to come.

I would have expected it to be much more interesting based on previous reviews. It is recognizable as an aged Agricole and it's not bad, but also nothing that stays in the memory. It just stays on the surface without real depth of flavor. However, I will give it a second chance due to the positive reviews! Edit 2nd review: it has a bitterness that doesn't fit at all. Otherwise it would be good. I downgraded it from 7.6 to 7.3.

No. 3 for today. Has a pleasant sugar cane and vanilla aroma on the nose. Then continues on the palate, with a nice vanilla and caramel flavor. Alcohol is well integrated. Good rum, but not top class.

Great Agricole but the herbal / grassy notes are only minimal. Intense spices (Allspice and more), wood and some sugars. A great example what kind of quality can be produced at this young age. I am looking forward for their bottlings 8-10 years of age.

Discovered at the Limoges Spirits Festival 2025. 👃 A pretty nose all in roundness of vegetal and candied sugarcane (between the two), spicy and vanilla wood, a freshness brought by a beautiful basket of fruits, citrus, a bunch of bananas falling from the tree, fresh coconut. 😋 On the palate more spicy vanilla and slightly smoky wood, pepper, nutmeg in cooking. The cane is more caramelized, still this relative freshness with dried fruits, citrus, a peach or an apricot fallen from the tree passing by. ⛳ Balanced, relatively dry, spicy and fresh. A bit of mint leaf, tobacco, melted wood, vanilla, dried fruits, candied cane. 💡 Really good this Karakoli which is the continuation of the ESB Fleurs du Vent cuvée. Beautiful typicity. Can't wait to see what it gives with a few more years of aging.

Tried at the Munich Spirits at the Spirit of Rum booth. Interesting Agricole, though somehow not quite my taste. It definitely needs a long time on the nose. On the palate, for me, a classic Agricole profile: vegetal with dried fruits and a citrus/vanilla touch. Very solid but for me it doesn't really stand out from other Agricoles.

Very tasty Agricole, you can already smell hazelnut on the nose. On the palate, the hazelnut stands out again. Also you can detect peach and banana. Fruity in taste.

Sample tasted 3 times. It has a strong character with some complexity for a 3-year-old while remaining pleasant on nose and palate. There's toasted wood, soft fruitiness and spices. A nice little pleasure for a very reasonable price. A brand with a promising future.

Tasted at RhumFest Paris 2025. Happy to have tried the first VO from Baie des Trésors which is a real success. Lots of freshness, cane, fruits with a discreet wood on this rum that I will try to taste more calmly but it deserves the experience.

Baie des Trésors – Karakoli 2019 – 52% Heading to La Trinité with Baie des Trésors, an independent brand launched in 2021 but backed by the historic plantations of Galion. Their strength? A parcel-based approach: each batch comes from a specific micro-terroir influenced by climate and soil. Karakoli, from the arid Spoutourne parcel, takes its name from Pointe Caracoli, famous for its fiery sunsets. 🔸 Nose: woody, fresh, slightly smoky, fruity touch 🔸 Palate: floral, spicy, fruity 🔸 Finish: medium, dried fruits, menthol touch An expressive and balanced VO, reflecting the terroir and the high standards of this young house.
