#4895 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, light wood, vegetal, light sugarcane, fruits, faint caramel, light citrus, faint coffee. Palate Warm, round, light wood, faint chocolate, light sugarcane, spicy, fruity, light citrus, faint coffee. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint roasted, light citrus, light sugarcane, spicy. This is a really nice rum and the price at release is pretty good.

A rum that hides well on the nose, I like the frank attack and its round side. The finish is short but it leaves a pleasant sensation of warmth. Very surprising on the nose: I have nothing (unanimous around the table) even after trying to close the glass. It's a bit frustrating. On the palate, pleasantly explosive attack. It's lively, quite round (a bit of custard when it opened), some light spice notes. Short finish.

The more I drink it, the more I love it. Nice balance with coconut, dried apricots, cinnamon, vanilla, woodiness that's neither too strong nor too weak, nuts with hazelnut leading. The cane remains present.

This Agricole from Karukera in Guadeloupe was in slot #15 in my 2025 advent calendar. It’s surprisingly aromatic and tasty considering its low ABV. The nose is round, fruity, spicy, woody and roasted with scents of citrus, vanilla, caramel, marzipan and coffee. At the palate it’s intense, complex, round, fruity, spicy, woody, sweet and roasted with flavors of chocolate and coffee. The finish is medium long, dry and roasted with flavors of coffee and some bitterness.

Étrange sensation cet « insolite » plus sec que leur 3 ans… Nez discret peu expressif sur le végétal. Bouche effectivement sèche et il faut s’attarder sur plusieurs gorgées pour en apprécier la complexité. Finale courte
