Sherry-cask fans and adventurous rum drinkers who enjoy fruity, slightly funky cane-juice rums at higher strength with plenty of red fruits, cherries and anise.
Those sensitive to higher ABV or who prefer clean, undisturbed clairin character without dominant sherry influence and candy-like cherry notes.

Wow wow got be one of the best rums I had very very good rum the sherry cask isn't even that strong recommend to every one

Thats a very complexed rum! Wow! Barrels tend to destroy all of the Haitian goodies, not in this case though. The smell is very scrumptious, i would describe it as toasty chemical cherry lollipops in a candy store with this sweet, perfumy smell. The flavour profile of that goodie is very nuansed. The first thing is just the very sweet sherry and red fruit flavour which is supported with noticeable esters and solvents. The blend appears to have a slight roasty, burnt sugar flavour surrounding that does not overwhelm the whole profile, but its beautifully compliments the whole mixture. It has some mushroomy, cheeselike notes. Has some spicy chilli like tingling. And last but not least it has wood characteristics, besides the sherry barrel it has a pencil shavings with graphite flavour. The sweet vinegarish red fruit chemicallike flavours pleasently linger and create a marvellous experience for Your tastebuds. True craftsmanship of the rum blending and a fabulous addition to the Papalin line. Highly reccomended

Very enjoyable, complex rum. Took a while to get my head around it, tastes something like the Velier Hampden 2010 C<>H with its heavy roasted notes but with lighter LFCH/OWH-level esters. Great value for money!

A real sherry bomb. Very nice nose of red fruits and spices. Strong dark aromas. I like it very much. Blend of Sajous, Vaval and Casimir. Matured in 7 ex-Oloroso sherry casks from Lustau. Tropical for 6 years in Port Au Prince.

12.10.2024 Romhatten Velier tasting. Retasting and I still like it, price to quality is very good in my mind. ----------------- #4565 20.01.2024 Relaxing a bit today ☺️ This is a nice release with nice fruits and light spices. The glue and solvent notes are light and actually becomes the profile. The palate is oily, warm and naturally sweet with some added anise. The finish is medium long and also lightly sweet. The empty glass has medicinal and faint smoky notes.

An excellent Haitian rum. On the nose it is really good. On the palate the black cherry notes dominate over the typical Haitian rum notes but overall it is a good palate. Very sweet and warm finish. The Papalin Haiti confirm to be my favorite of the series. This one probably surpasses even the Papalin Haiti 4 year old.

I really like the sherry maturation. Compared to its 4-year-old brother, however, it lacks a little complexity. Nevertheless, a very good Haiti rum - especially if you like a (stronger) sherry influence.
