The Wild Parrot Savanna Hidden Spirits (LMDW) 2016
Olives in brine is the note nobody expects from a rum, but that's the first thing most tasters here reach for — black olive, capers, nail polish and solvent, with tropical fruit hiding behind it. The palate is oily and concentrated: varnish, plastic, a little caramel, lime and unripe pineapple. At 60.8% it runs hot and long. A genuine oddity from Savanna that people either grin at or push away.

This rum has got some crazy flavours!!! Very interesting stuff. The nose is so complex I could sniff it several minutes and still find something new. Dominant notes I got were all kinds of olives (most dominant one), brine, nail polish, but also very concentrated dried and fragrant flower petals. The taste is very concentrated, full bodied, mostly I get lime, unripe pineapple and some technical notes accompanied by chilli-like spiciness. The finish is quite long with medicinal disinfection, petrol, rubber and again, olives and tropical fruits.

WL 2024 Mon OVNI du salon cette année, je ne l'avais pas goûté en 2023. Solvant, colle, saumure, vinaigre de câpres le nez n'est pas franchement envoûtant. Pour le goût, je me suis rappelé des anniversaires de mes enfants, quand je dois gonfler une quarantaine de ballons pour la décoration. Heureusement qu'avec le caoutchouc, il y a quelques fruits et toujours cette saumure d'olives. Un truc de dingue, de geek, de sado-masochiste. Perso, je suis retourné le goûter une deuxième fois en fin de salon 😁

Spirituosenzirkus 24.05.2024 im Haus der Musik. Sample. Interessante Nase. Lösungsmittel, Nagellack, Plastik, tropische Früchte, Kräuter und Oliven in Lake. Kräftig, warm und ausgewogen. Im Mund extrem öliges Mundgefühl. Der Geschmack ist schwierig zu beschreiben, ich versuche zu assoziieren: Plastik. Karamell, tropische Früchte, nochmals Früchte, chemisch, künstlich… Sehr komplex. Der Abgang ist kurz und schwach. Ein interessanter Rum abseits ausgetretener Pfade, keine Ahnung, ob ich ihn mag, oder auch nicht.🤔🤔🤔

Unfortunately, I don't particularly like the nose, which initially seems very difficult to access due to the combination of medicinal, acidic aromas and fermented fruit notes. A little more pleasant on the palate, but overall the taste is a little too extreme in the direction of the medicinal and fermented notes.

Rum and chocolate tasting by Rum Club Switzerland. A nose of varnish and solvents with black olive and fruit in the background. The palate is full of solvents and varnish with a touch of mothballs. The finish has a bad, hollowed-out animal aftertaste. A very original rum, perhaps to be tasted again with oxidation. I don't like it at all, but some tasting participants did. That's why I give it a good mark.

Ganz ganz komisches Destillat!😅🫣 Olivenlake, Thai Basilikum, Kümmel, künstlich wirkende undefinierbare Aromen, blumig, gleichzeitig wie Benzin und verbranntes Plastik mit einer super seltsam und fehl am Platz wirkenden Süße und Floralität.... Sorry aber der geht so gar nicht an mich ran. Zu dem Preis schon Mal erst Recht nicht...
