Softer and more elegant than the noise around it suggests — this is Neisson playing it refined, not wild. The nose runs to hazelnut praline, milk chocolate and orange, with a light agricole grassiness underneath. The palate is round and gently sweet, syrupy even, more pastry and dried fruit than raw cane fire. A blend of older vintages, reduced to a soft 49.4%. Long, floral finish.

#5712 27.09.2025 Day one of the Whisky Live 2025, which this year looks better organized/arranged inside. This is a nice well balanced Neisson with a fruity and naturally sweet profile. There's some dried fruits, light coffee and faint caramel notes in the profile as well. Neisson has clearly pulled out all the stops with this cuvée. The nose is just sublime, with a myriad of spices of all kinds complementing a very elegant and elaborate profile. Patisserie notes of brioche, crème brûlée, toffee, honey and caramel add to the greediness, along with chocolate, mocha and baked apples. The woodiness blends with the fruit (dried, exotic and citrus) and a hint of freshness. It's hard to get much more complete than this. The attack on the palate is incredibly round, with a superb harmony of flavors. Spices, roasted hazelnuts, chocolate, almond, sugarcane, candied fruit (tropical and citrus), wood, tobacco, aromatic herbs and caramel give a great concentration of elegance and complexity. The alcohol is imperceptible, but perhaps just lacks a little pick-me-up to invigorate the profile. The finish is highly aromatic, with tangy citrus, chocolate, espresso, spices of all kinds, melted wood, roasted hazelnut and cane juice. There's a slight agricultural note of fresh, aromatic herbs that returns at the very end. It's a breath of dry but very complex air. All in all, this is a top-quality rum, the secret of which only Neisson knows. However, the quality in no way justifies the totally indecent price of this cuvée, placed in the segment of excessive luxury with a pretty decanter. After the Nonaginta cuvée, this is another red card for Neisson.

A great, well balanced rum. Maybe just a bit below Sacha, but really high level. Usual neisson notes, spices and sugarcane, the wood and some pastry notes. These neisson are surely a hit, despite high price.

Wisky Live 2023, quick tasting session! A little surprised, I was expecting a bomb and in the end it was rather fine and complex. Looking at the price and the noise around the bottle... I have my doubts, even if it's still an excellent product.

Some of the major Neisson characteristics - but quite frankly given the buzz / the price - it was quite disappointing - and the value for money is clearly not there That being said it’s not bad - but not a star…

As a reminder, Zetwal means star in Creole. It is a blend of vintages 2000, 2005, 2012 and 2013, usually reserved for the prestigious Armada collection. The first bottling (Polaris) came out in 2023. Each year, the same blend is used but with an additional year of aging in cask. The Polaris and Sirius stand out for great complexity, aromatic finesse and this unique signature typical of Neisson, which appeals to both collectors and lovers of exceptional rums. Lots of fruit, lots of elegance, and a superb length on the palate: perfect to start a tasting. This year, we were able to taste the 2025 version in "black bottle", still in finishing. Special feature: it is not reduced, unlike previous editions, but presented at cask strength (about 57% if I remember correctly).

Tasting at Whisky Live 2023, blend of 2000, 2005, 2012, 2013 aged between 10 and 21 years. Beautiful blend from Neisson (hard to make a bad one with what they offer). Very smooth and round again, pleasant pastry notes, mingling vanilla, cocoa, fine wood, dried fruits and a slightly caramelized side, with a nice finish on the wood. Too bad again that the price is exorbitant.
