Un superbe single cask (barrel) de chez JM, qui a énormément de personnalité. Le nez démarre sur un tableau gourmand, enchanteur, profond et complexe. La compote de fruits tropicaux et la marmelade donnent avec les agrumes une belle fragrance, tandis que la canne à sucre dévoile une grande sucrosité, soutenue par des notes pâtissières, mielleuses et caramélisées. Si le nez évoque également un boisé noble et élégant, c’est la gourmandise et l’abondance des épices (cannelle, muscade, épices d’hiver) qui subjugue les narines, accompagnées de notes de cacao, de café et d’amandes toastées. Une expérience olfactive au top. En bouche, les épices prennent le pas et relèvent le palais qui semble presque adouci par la canne à sucre, les fruits secs et les fruits exotiques. Le boisé toasté, le cacao, le café et le tabac agrémentent le profil d’un côté plus sombre mais très attrayant, qui donne encore plus de profondeur. L’alcool est remarquablement bien intégré. La finale prolonge le plaisir du nez et du palais avec de belles notes d’agrumes (zeste d’orange), de fruits secs et tropicaux, de la verdure sur la canne à sucre, les herbes aromatiques et le tabac, mais aussi le boisé épicé et le cacao amer, avec une touche de douceur sur le caramel. C’est un véritable melting pot d’arômes et de saveurs, aussi complet qu’élégant, aussi vif que délicat, un JM dans toute sa splendeur.

Beautifully full fruity aroma, raisins, cinnamon, vanilla. I'm used to lower percentages with Rhum J.M, so I was quite curious about this one and it's a blast. Full of fruit and flowers. A little nuttiness on the finish and a lovely throat warmer.

This is a beautiful Martinique that I like, with a nice presence, freshness and an acidity that reminds me of raspberry. It's well rounded, with good integration of the alcohol. The spices are not overpowering, which leaves room for a nice gourmet touch.

Wow, Clairement je pensais m’ennuyer sur un jus de bois, mais c’est carrément l’inverse. Le nez est quand même boisé, mais pour le reste beaucoup de fruits, d’épices, du tabac, du chocolat, c’est rond et long, top !

Another bottle that I finished a while back now and forgot to review. A bomb of Xmas spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and I mean a lot of them. Quite intense in flavor. Perhaps a little too much towards the dry spicy side of things at the end of the day. I enjoyed the bottle and do not regret my purchase but not something that plays on my mind some months after finishing it, hence the forgotten review!
