Franconian Tasting Gang on 19.04.2024 In today's Chairman's Comparison the New Vibrations compete against the 6th Rum&Co. The typical Chairman's profiles are clearly recognizable in both. My personal feeling, however, is that the New Vibrations is somewhat overpriced. There are considerably cheaper bottlings that are even better in taste.

Super tasty St. Lucia Master's Selection ... pure John Dore 1 and really worthwhile and absolutely not bad. But not top class. Possibly not the full range that is possible with St. Lucia.
Review by Jakob
Classic Chairmans, for me slightly ahead of the older sister release from the New Vibrations series.

Franconian Rum Tasting Gang 19.04.2024 A tasty Chairman's, quite dark and strong, fruit is there but overall more on the woody and spicy side. Dark caramel and a note that reminds me of bacon. Alcohol is clear, but not yet disturbing, quite well integrated.

Chairman's reserve Master's reserve LMDW 2010 This traditional English rum comes to us from Saint Lucia. It is a molasses rum that figures 61.1°. It has an amber color. This rum is really off the beaten track. The nose has a little ester, but above all a pronounced medicinal profile: clove, camphor. The scents are quite irritating to the mucous membranes of the nostrils. There's a very dark side to this rum, with very old oak dust, and garage smells reminiscent of rather old Trinidad and Tobago profiles. I found the palate too rich in alcohol, like 70° camphorated alcohol for disinfecting wounds. The palate is coated with ginger and chili pepper, but clove and a little nutmeg still dominate. The taste is powerful and dark. The profile is roasted, smoky and roasted like a strong coffee. The finish leads on to gingerbread and medicine. The finish is very long, dark, with returning woodiness, cloves and a broader hint of medicine. This rum is not my cup of tea. While I couldn't drink several glasses, I can't take away this rum's complexity or originality. It deserves to be tasted at least once.

The John Dore selection, much fruitier than its Vendôme sister, as you'd expect. Classic chairman profile, which in no way detracts from the fact that this is a very fine selection.

Rum Friendly Club Advent Calendar Day 8.

I prefer its 15 years brother. Classic Chairman profile with tropical fruits, wood and spicy nose. In the palate leather and wood emerges, followed by spicy and caramelized notes. Finish is medium. It is a bit overpriced.

St. Lucia's usual high standard, even if this cask is not in the top group. The complex and pleasant attack with the typical markers, but somewhat reduced esters and less pointed than in the top bottlings, should be emphasized positively. Alcohol integration is exemplary. The finish is not ideal, as a caramel note overlays the rest, to the detriment of complexity. There are better St. Lucias for the price.

What a beautiful bottle. Fruity. Dark. Intense. Love it. A but with the regular 48% off deal every half a month😜.

Tasted Whisky Live, more incisive than its 15-year-old brother, but obviously less complex. Distilled in John Dore 1. Both selections are top-notch!

The color - yellow gold and honey, but darker little bit. The nose - clove, camphor My personal note - its really different rum from what I have usually. This one is not sweet, no dominant wood or fruits, this one is more about spices and medicinal notes.. The palette - complex..each sip was little bit different.. enjoyed exploring it - its strong, dark and intense - spice, wood, I don’t feel fruits so much compared to other samples I’ve in last days..worth trying. I agree that I feel beacon too, intense alcoholic taste, but not harsh… The finish - warm, quite long, dry.
