Parallel tasting with Dame Jeanne #1, which I had already tasted and rated at the time with 88 points, this assessment remains the same. Dame Jeanne #2 is more mineral and less fruity on the nose and flatter on the palate than #1. The lower alcohol content is noticeable here. Especially against this background, I find the price, which has been significantly increased once again compared to #1, very questionable and cannot recommend buying a whole bottle - a nice sample will do. Update 2024-04-18: I must apologize. In this second tasting (which concludes the small tasting today), I like the rum enough. This time I taste a delicious mixture of heavy fruit bread and Werther's Echten. Simply delicious.

Let's take the time to taste this beautiful bottle. A fine, elegant agricole. With notes of orange mingling with a complex, greedy woodiness. The nose is really very pleasant. On the palate, it's more wood than candied fruit, particularly spicy. This is really a very good Martinique Agricole rum. The price is a little high, however, which is a pity.

Really nice with all the pieces, wood, vanilla and some fruits. In comparison with the first release I find the nose to be more complex and intense. But on the palate the lower abv (45 / 48,3%) is clearly a disadvantage. The vanilla is much more present and the spices aren’t. At moments it feels a little bit too diluted and ends a little bit and kind of boring. To cut a long story short, I prefer the first release a bit (8,9) and the second only comes in close (8,7) because of it’s opulent and more complex nose.

Unfortunately, lady number 2 did not convince me. It is still very inviting on the nose and arouses curiosity for more. But unfortunately, in my opinion, it can't hold its own. In the mouth, the wood/barrel predominates and the agricole overpowers the subtle aromas that I perceived on the nose. In addition, it is very thin/watered down and the finish is very short and meaningless, which lingers in the memory.

Insanely beautiful nose with extremely many fruity notes of fresh and candied fruits. Orange is very prominent, but also lots of stone fruit and tropical fruit. Also spices and a surprising freshness. More spices and less lush fruit on the palate. It's also really too thin for me ... there's a little less alcohol than in the first version. Still very good, but not as great as the nose

9,5:On the nose, the first impression we get is a very impressive, tempting, balanced rum with juicy peaches, candied fruits, vanilla and pleasant wood, French wine touch. Sugar cane is tasty and mineral, caramelized. A nice representative of an agricole. Milk chocolate and roasted nuts add to very attractive first face of this rum. When we air it, the complexity is shown with new faces of it once in a while, as the fruits are now tropical, some sweet spices and floral notes mark the presence. It becomes a bit tanninic. New markers are also vegetal notes with tea, grass, medicinal with a touch of polish which is well integrated in the mix.We are going towards another face with more darker side with mocha, chocolate fudge, burnt sugar, toasted oak, peanuts, peanutbutter as the feeling is syrupy. After well rest, we could add another layer of notes as cocoa, hazelnut, a whiff of mint, orange peel and dried fruits. A man could hardly find so round, tempting, hedonistic rum on the nose.... 8,8:On the palate, the attack is very agricole like with spiciness, mineral sugar cane, caramelized and tea, the darker side is very present with some medicinal notes, mocha, chocolate, fudge, roasted nuts, is woody, dry, vegetal with olive, basil, complemented with cocoa, vanilla and nuts. Now we could notice some bourbon touch with yellow fruits, there is red wine nicely woven into the darker notes of this complex rum. Another layer of notes is stronger with nice rest with candied fruits, is citrusy, there is some orange peel. Some notes that crawl randomly in are some mint, brine and leather. Inspite of all this notes, the picture of the rum is intact as it is very round, balanced and tasty. 8,7:The finish is a long agricole with mineral sugar cane, orange, woody and nutty, chocolate, roasted , there are dried fruits, a bit astringent, dry, tea, olive, some spiciness and some leathery touch for a tasty happy end. Cheers 🍾🥂.

#4668 24.03.2024 Sitting at home relaxing well knowing that I'll be off next week 😊 Nose Fresh, balanced, wood, light roasted, orange, plum, spices. Palate Balanced, complex, wood, light roasted, spices, light orange, light caramel, light grass, prunes. Finish Medium to long, complex, wood, orange, faint caramel, light citrus. This is a very nice blend and I'm still hunting a bottle that isn't too expensive. The empty glass has light chocolate, faint tobacco and nutmeg.

For me, it seamlessly continues the quality of No. 1. Even more floral and fresh on the nose. Very carefully blended, typical J.M aromas, wonderfully matched. Fruity, a little herbal, little wood, just the right sweetness, warm finish.

La Dame Jeanne the 2nd and it doesn't really convince me. I still find the nose very good. A nice, ample fruitiness of cherry, apricot and other stone fruits... very pleasant. This gave me hope for an intense palate. Unfortunately, this expectation was not fulfilled. Unfortunately, it loses out very clearly here. The dilution did not do it any good. The fruit is almost non-existent, it spreads out softly and only a little caramel, barrel and light spice are noticeable. It lacks a certain complexity. The finish is also not particularly pronounced. After a while, the classic agricole aromas assert themselves.

Ja man, richtig geschrieben. Dies ist auch ein geiler Rum. Nase jedenfalls vielversprechend. Vanille und etwas Fass. Am Gaumen dann ebenfalls viel Holz und ein wenig Vanille sowie ein klein wenig Orange. Verdammt lecker.

Gentle nose with a nice balance of fruits, wood and a grassy freshness. Some light spices in the background. Creamy mouthfeel with grassy vegetal notes, less fruits and more spices. Clearly agricol. Not bad but a bit underwhelming. Could need some higher abv. Short-medium finish on the rather grassy/spicy side.

A very fine blend from JM, confirming release after release the quality and prestige of the house. The nose is very elegant and aromatic. Spices are dominant but not aggressive, with vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. There are also roasted notes of wood and hazelnut. Fruits gain in intensity with aeration, taking over with citrus (orange), exotic fruits (pineapple, banana), yellow fruits (peach, apricot) and candied fruits. A little floral breeze grazes the nostrils too. A super profile that awakens the sense of smell. On the palate, aromatic finesse is the order of the day. Spices are abundant (cloves, pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon) but once again, very well controlled, without overwhelming the palate. Hazelnut, candied fruit and caramel add to the greediness. The fruit is radiant: peach, pineapple and orange put on a truly colorful show. While a slight lack of alcohol could be criticized, resulting in a slightly watery texture, the resulting rum is nonetheless of the highest quality. The finish is long, spicy, slightly vegetal and always accompanied by that fruity sweetness, that slightly sweet roundness and a slightly more bitter woodiness. The aftertaste is opulent and unctuous, uncomplicated and harmonious. A superb bottling that deserves all its praise.

Im direkten Vergleich zu No. 1 gefällt mir die Nase hier besser. Komplexer, fruchtiger, runder. Sehr schön! Am Gaumen gefällt mir No. 1 doch besser.
