Here's the twist: it's a Solera-style Demerara from Rum Nation, so the dark, roasted Guyana character comes wrapped in a lot of sweetness. Expect coffee, cocoa, caramel and dark dried fruit, with vanilla and burnt-cask notes. Bottled at 40%, the wood and alcohol sit together nicely, but several tasters flag a very short finish and a bit of pepper on the back end.

A strange idea to apply the Solera method to a Demerara rum, followed by a sherry cask finish. The nose is very sweet and caramelized, with an influence of red fruits, sweet spices and tobacco. The palate is rather oily, the 40% reduction having impacted the rum's aromatic profile. Licorice, anise, cinnamon, chocolate, caramel and vanilla wood dominate, with a hint of tobacco and tea. The finish is very short, the profile darker and roasted like Demerara rums. Far from a benchmark rum, but affordable for the price.

Very solid daily Sipper Demerara! The wood ans alcohol is integrated very well. This I can recommend to each one who is starting the adventure into the world of rum, due it’s very large amount of various notes/tastes and readily accesibility

On the nose coffee, licorice, sugar, cocoa. On the palate coffee, cocoa, molasses, some spices, almost non-existent finish a bit salty and roasted.

On the nose there is coffee, caramel and a bit of wood. On the palate it is sweet, a bit of dark fruits, cocoa and a bit of barrel in the finish.
