A complex but balanced rum. The nose is remarkable with its fruity notes. The palate maintains expectations with notes of apricot and dark chocolate. The finish is even better, balanced and with a very good persistence. An elegant, balanced and at the same time complex drink, recommended! I recommend letting it oxygenate a bit before drinking it.

#4614 15.02.2024 Relaxing at home with a nice rum. Nose Fresh, fruity, light wood and roasted notes, light nutts, caramel, light nougat. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, fruits, caramel, light nougat, chocolate, cherry. Finish Medium to long, wood, roasted, fruits, caramel. Ocerall a pretty good rum at a good price tag.

Sans conteste le meilleur des 4 rhums de la série proposée au RhumFest 2024 par Excellence Rhum. Pas sûr de savoir pourquoi il sort de la trame Longueteau habituelle mais je l'ai trouvé excellent. Superbe mariage entre le bois, les fruit et des notes gourmandes type caramel. A re-goûter sans hésiter.

A beautiful bottling by Excellence Rhum. This rum from the Espérance distillery (which produces Longueteau and Karukera) is a fine experiment that was first aged in cognac casks before moving on to new oak. This reverse aging gives a very interesting profile, with a nose of toasted wood and spices, but which is also very suave. Tobacco, dried fruits (grapes), walnuts, caramel and chocolate create a beautiful olfactory harmony. On the palate, the first impression is of an extremely smooth, syrupy rum with a sweetness of caramel, nougat and honey. It's only afterwards that the cognac cask adds a little liveliness, with a dry side of fruit (raisins), spices and roasted wood. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is very long, sticking to the palate with this sweet, syrupy side before reasserting itself on spices and roasted wood. The touch of cognac lingers and is very pleasant. A very nice rum for its age, price and accessibility.

Very exciting bottling! You can clearly taste the influence of fresh oak with lots of vanillin, as well as light cherry and chocolate. There should be more young bottlings like this!

Notes prises lors du Rhum Fest 2024, Notes rapides et palais un peu lourd, désolé :) On a ici : un longueteau qui ne ressemble pas trop à un longueteau, notamment avec une présence de noix Un rhum : une liqueur de noix et d'abricot, à chaud Finale : assez simple mais efficace Pas mal, mais pas forcément dans mon gout, j'aime pas la noix.

Tasted this elegant and rather intense Agricole from the Esperance distillery in Guadeloupe, producer of Longueteau, at the Sweden (Stockholm) Rumfest 2024. Before blended and aged it consisted of 65% red cane rum known for its fruitiness and 35% blue cane rum characterized for its citrus notes. This blend was then rested for 1 year in stainless steel vats before being barreled in 2017 in an ex-Cognac barrel. Finally it is bottled by Excellence Rhum, 6yo in 2023 at 56,9% in just 249 bottles. The nose is fruity, mild, spicy and oily with notes of nuts, apricot and honey. At the palate it’s elegant, fruity and woody with strong apricot flavors and hints of ripe fruits and cherries. The long finish is spicy with the flavors from the palate persistent.
