Romdeluxe Diamond Wild Series Rum No. 50 Anniversary Edition MDK 2003

Fans of old continental-aged Guyana who like their wood balanced rather than tarry will feel at home here. Twenty years shows as roasted cedar, dried fruit, clove and a soft caramel note, with pear and banana underneath. Most tasters call it round and elegant; a few find the 56.9% alcohol poorly integrated and hot. Let it rest in the glass — it opens up slowly.

The anniversary edition in the Wild Series just tastes good - first a little round and soft in taste and rounds off with a contrast of a little bit of sharpness, which fits well.

Surprisingly round and delicious for a continental matured Versailles Guyana Diamond. Violets, pencil, burnt caramel, pear, clove and other spices. Round and balanced but still not really my profile overall.

Rum Friendly Club Advent Calendar, Day 16. A vegetal nose (dried herbs and medicinal plants), fruits (banana and dried fruits). Varnished cedar wood, present but not overpowering. The palate is soft and balanced on entry, then the aromas develop with the same flavors as on the nose, but the wood is much more pronounced. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. The finish is long, with bitter cedar wood, floral notes and fruit.

8,4:On the nose, we get a combination of nutty roasted wood, grassy (hay) and flowery(lavender) molasses with green, citrus fruits like pears, apples, slightly alcoholic. On aeration, the wood brings spices, the molasses is mineral, fresh with tea herbaceous, earthy with tobacco, pencil shavings. The rum becomes very buttery with vanilla, butterscotch, banana. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is sweet, smooth, brown with butterscotch, buttery, fruits like banana, dried, green, citrus fruits, the wood is roasted, spicy with pepper, clove, salty, as the molasses is flowery, grassy, herbaceous and earthy with pencil shavings. 8,6:The finish is very balanced, sweet, oily and buttery, slightly tannic, dry and furry, as we notice roasted wood notes like butterscotch, nuts, coffee, confectionery, a bit spicy, pairing dried and green fruits, flowery, musty, but fresh molasses...

14.12.2023 Retasting this one and I still really like the balance and elegance it has. Nose Wood, light roasted, light apple, clove, dried fruit, faint floral, light caramel. Palate Balance, light wood, faint smoke, dried fruit, spice, light caramel clove, light floral, light cognac, medium spicy. Finish Medium to long, fresh, light wood, dried fruit, spice, light caramel, medium spicy, light grass. Needs to rest for a good while to really open up properly. ---------------------- #4411 Whisky & Rom Festival 2023 28.10.2023 Notes. Well balanced with nice roasted wood. Dried fruit with spices and a light polish note and some licorice. There is a nice natural sweetness to it.

Alcohol could be better integrated. Not my favorite Enmore.

Tasted at Whisky and rum festival at politikens hus, the 27th of October 2023. The 50th release of Wild Series. I found it to have a sweetness in the nose. Complex taste with notes of fruits, subtle hints of wood and sweetness

Ta světlá znamená jedinou věc a zrovna moc nadšení to ve mě nevyvolává. Vůně je nepříliš výrazná. Dokonce bych řekl, že i lehce travnatá, mýdlová a zatuchlá. Moc to nenadchne. Chuťově příjemná Guyana. Sušené ovoce, hořká čokoláda s nádechem mýdla. V závěru přechod do kávových tónů s melasou. Fajn pití, ale bohužel to staření z toho udělá rum, na který si zítra nevzpomenete.
