Sip it neat or over ice and you get soft caramel, toffee and vanilla up front, with raisin, a little mocha and a smoky, tobacco edge underneath. It's a rounded, easy-drinking Spanish-style pour at 40%. Sweet and gentle, though a couple of tasters found the vanilla-butterscotch middle a bit simplistic and familiar. More of a relaxed evening sipper than something to dig into.

A mild aroma and taste of smoky cask, caramel, chocolate, raisin/red wine and vanilla. Slightly sweet, moderately complex, a little smoky spiciness, but very round and harmonious. A Spanish-style rum that deviates somewhat from the standard and has a strong woody and earthy tobacco character. Until around 2016, this rum was labeled with a port wine finish, after which it was said to have been aged in American and French oak barrels. No idea if the current version still saw port casks, but some red wine is hinted at in the profile.

21.12.2025 Having a friend over who is not up to the heavier stuff, so we run through a few lighter rums. ---------- Though it's a sweet rum it still carries a lot of amazing flavours that just keep coming at you.

The taste opens with an immediate sweetness and a delicious caramel fatness which slowly balances with notes of oak, burnt apple and mocha.

7,2:On the nose, the first impression we get is vanilla and sweet butterscotch, it has a floral notes. There is a very mild underlying oaky character and just a bit of cinnamon. There is a little licorice after airing, some leather, a faint of fruitiness. 7,5:On the palate, the attack is dominated by much vanilla and lots of butterscotch. Again the vanilla takes on an almost floral, perfumed approach.There is a tad more oak on the palate and a spicyness which wasn’t evident on the nose. Perhaps a touch of tobacco and leather. After several sips it suddenly starts to show off a sharp note towards the end. 7,4:The finish is quite short with a mild warmth and slight spiciness.It still has a lot of sweetness left to keep the sugar rush going.There is a mild tannic influence...

For a sweet rum, it’s not bad. Nose: Rich caramel, vanilla and ripe dried fruit, with raisin, tobacco, soft oak and a faint smoky note. Palate: Sweet and silky. Toffee, caramelized fruit, vanilla and molasses, followed by roasted apple, mocha, oak and a touch of baking spice. Finish: Smooth and lingering, with caramel, dried fruit, chocolate/mocha, tobacco and a gentle drying oakiness.

Nothing special, somehow already had many times like this or similar in the glass: caramel, vanilla, a bit of wood. Round and soft, as expected for the low alcohol content. Not bad, not convincing, boring

A sweet and Spanish style rum. Much better than most of the DR style rum but a little simplistic. The nose is toffee and vanilla with some woody barrel. On the mouth more toffee with raisin’s, chocolate and coffee. Finish a bit more interesting with some tabacco and roasted notes. Interesting rum, close too a 8 but not quite there
