A fine, exotic drop, in my opinion! A clear sticky note at the beginning, then something else on the finish, which must be the influence of the Mezcal cask. I'm already looking forward to the second tasting when the sample from Olivia arrives. On the other hand, a bottle is not expensive, you can't go wrong with the price ... Update 2023-11-28: The 2nd tasting confirms it: light but drinkable. A really successful mezcal experiment. Quite unlike the Calvados experiment released at the same time (still without a RumX number).

👃 The nose offers us tropical fruit, fresh grass and a little oak and caramel. 👄 The palate adds spice and smokiness. The finish is normal. A Plantation rum, renamed Planteray at the beginning of 2024, that goes by itself with its little character and the exoticism of mezcal.

The last Plantation for today. At least on the nose it's quite fruity. Peach can be recognized, also slightly smoky. On the palate we have a lot of fruit, also slightly sweet (caramel). Solid.

Once again Plantation, or now Planteray, has tried to give a rum an unusual finish. A great experiment, even if unfortunately it doesn't quite catch me. Nevertheless, the mezcal note can be tasted well here without being overpowering.

The mezcal finish works surprisingly well - the rum turns on the palate as expected into spicy-smoky, but doesn't get lost in it. An interesting experiment that can be called quite successful.

The smell is too mild. I smell only fresh fruit, a little bit of flowers and even less technicality. The taste is similar. I haven't had the pleasure of tasting mezcal yet, but the finish definitely gave it an interesting twist. A good experiment for me.

Another strange fut 😉 You have to try and get away from the label and ask yourself: is it good? Well, yes, it's good. The Mezcal and Trinidad Alliance works pretty well. I won't buy the bottle but it was nice.

The initial nose reminded me of an urinal puck. After some time it become some kind of Parfum, fruits and some vegetal notes. Overall it is quite fresh but I have to be honest that don’t recognise any Mezcal. Of course there are some nice aspects of this dram but nothing I haven’t seen somewhere else (and without the Mezcal finish). It is a decent but also kind of boring drop.

Mezcal finish makes it special. Very unusual to other many Trinidads I had opportunity to try. Dry, almost like fruit destilat. It ia hard to describe taste and nose at the beging of bottle but foelr sure I say You should try.

If I had to recommend a T.D.L. to a beginner, this would be a good candidate. Slightly minty, a hint of pepper and the first rust spots. A bit thin, but otherwise very round.

On The Rocks: On the nose a nice Citrus hit with some oak, spice and peaches with a wisp of smoke. Taste reveals a stronger spice and citrus punch with some mild smoke and delayed burn. Finish is medium with the spice and burn and mild smoke slowly fading away. This is quite a unique and interesting rum but is only nice in smaller quantities. Mixed Pepsi Zero:

A good rum for the money, a bit longer aging would have done it good. Light on the nose. On the palate, classic TDL minty eucalyptus. The finish is rather short with a bit of mezcal character.
