Sipped neat, this leans dark and spicy: dark chocolate, dried figs, roasted almonds and a caramelized brown-sugar edge over plenty of oak. At 63% it runs hot, and several tasters found the alcohol not fully tucked in. Fans loved the "longueur folle" — a very long finish — while others wanted more fruit and balance. A single-cask Ten Cane pot still, aged 15 years.

Edit: strawberry and raspberry with oxidation, but it lacks a little something to be exceptional. Old note: A beautiful bottle at Ricci! I hadn’t tasted Ten Cane yet. Here it’s a very dark profile, chocolate, spices, dried fruits as well as a very nice vineyard peach side. Overall quite straightforward, no big surprises but a crazy length! It’s also my son’s anniversary cuvée :)

It's quite nice, but doesn't quite reach the level of the other two. It's quite woody and toasty, with dark chocolate and caramel recognizable, but dried fruits can also be detected in this Ten Cane.

#6872 31.05.2026 Just got back from a hike with my wife, basically walking on the edge of the cliff sometimes. Watching the last day of the Giro d'Italia. A very nice rum expacially when looking at the price tag. An intense rum with nice fruits, nutts, chocolate, roasted wood, spices and light caramel.

Rum Friendly Club, advent calendar, day 16. A beautiful nose, oily, rich and deep, with dried and tropical fruits, roasted almonds and dried fig. Simpler, the palate is no less rich and deep. Less complex though and with a somewhat simple sweetness, caramel, reminiscent of Spanish-style rums. The finish is on a nice bitterness, bitter cherry, which lingers for a long time, and wood.

Well, I'll be damned! What dynamite our alpha has unearthed yet again! The nose is very fruity, with lots of blackberries and a hint of caramel. Peach follows. On the palate, it clicks straight away: blackberry accompanied by red fruit, fairly bitter chocolate and a hint of caramelized brown sugar. A beautiful bitterness that counterbalances the fatness. The sting in the back of the throat reminds me a little of New Grove. But how good it is! The finish is very long and pleasant. This juice could clearly have been included in the exception range.

Based on the very high ratings, I would have expected more. Overall, somewhat one-sided in the dark and spicy direction. For a higher rating, I miss more fruit, balance and better integrated alcohol. Seems a bit beastly.

Visit to the new Ricci premises: we were the first! Typical Ten Cane profile from 2008 but with a nice woodiness that gives it complexity.

Only picks me up to a limited extent. Rather spice-heavy, with wood, dried fruit and roasted almonds. Similar on the palate, a little too spicy on the finish. Doesn't really get me subjectively.

Very beautiful bottles from Ricci, usually it can be surprising but with this 15-year-old it's a very successful rum, a great quality/price ratio. One would love to have a case of this kind to collect this type of rum!!!

At first promising aroma, then the first sip. Then with every next sip something started to bother me more and more. There's a kind of sharpness, maybe alcoholiness, where the rum isn't completely well integrated. And this is a 'herbal' Trinidad, which I generally like a lot - and I also have a lot to compare it with.
