It opens grassy and earthy, then swings hard into glue, varnish, leather and wood, with dark chocolate, coffee and a bit of dried fig underneath. The 14 years show as toasted, gourmand oak. A few find it leans too woody, but most love how the agricole funk and spice hold together.

An absolutely typical Bally with the familiar notes. Compared to its BdF brothers, this one is a little less woody and more palatable. Delicious. A wonderful Bally that can also appeal to people who are otherwise less into Agricole.

I'm used to better from Bally. Too much wood, too astringent/earthy/medical and in general I simply miss the dirty and wild note that is otherwise typical for Bally and the awesome complexity that is hardly present here...

Just after its brother st james V&B. It's the same kind of Martinique profile, with a very present, greedy woodiness. This one is perhaps a little finer on the nose, a little spicier on the palate. It's an excellent martiniquais, but once again a profile that's perhaps too woody to enter the 90+ category.

Except initially on the nose (first grass, steppe, vegetal) then quickly changing to glue, varnish, a classic soft Agricole. The alcohol is well integrated. On the palate, the spicy, herbal notes predominate with a minimal amount of fruit. The finish is clearly on the grassy, herbal side and leaves little room for other flavors.

Bally has never really disappointed me so far. Once again a very successful bottling. Thanks to Rodolphe for the split. Fulfills everything I expected, nothing more needs to be said.

A very beautiful selection from the V&B brand. The nose is extremely elegant, carried by slightly toasted noble wood notes that give a dark side to the profile. This sensation is reinforced by spices, dark chocolate, mocha, nuts, dried fruits, fig and grape. The touch of glue and polish offers a deep and complex nose, it's truly beautiful. The agricultural side takes time to come out, without being invasive. The vegetal greenness comes out faster on the palate with a grassy and earthy side, but is quickly followed by softer, darker notes that refine the taste. We find a rather lively fruitiness with a tangy lemon side, marmalade and raisins. The well-roasted wood, dark chocolate, salt and spices envelop the palate in their grip to counterbalance the agricultural greenness and give a balanced and very elegant profile. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, bitter, tannic, vegetal and earthy. The spices, roasted wood, coffee and dark chocolate come back strongly but with indulgence. The grape and citrus now come to embellish the profile with this touch of "freshness" against the dark aromas. A very good agricole rum all in elegance and balance.

I love the Bally DNA that is clearly recognizable here. The nose and palate are in agreement except for the buttery side which I don't find on the palate. Otherwise, we're on tart fruits like blackcurrant or redcurrant or even raspberry vinegar. The age brings aromas from the cask with beautiful vanilla, dark chocolate, coffee... I like it :)

I've never had so many Bally, but I really like these earthy, mineral and pithy notes. It tastes of craftsmanship without chichi, honest and straightforward. This one was finely refined, nice finish, especially pleasing on the palate and comes across as "agricole-y" as hoped. Thanks to Zabo for sharing the sample!

The nose is intoxicating with glaze, unripe red fruits, hazelnuts, chocolate, dried figs, varnished wood, light leather, a touch of sweetness and a hint of citrus, exquisite! The palate maintains the same aromas with predominance of red fruits. In the finish some pepper and something fresh almost menthol-like, but also dry wood and vegetables. Fluctuates between 8.9 and 9

One of the most beautiful mastery of cane I’ve had under the palate. Between voluptuousness and harmony. Natural cane juice, toasted bread, cocoa, tea herb, wrapped in pastry notes of vanilla, guava, strawberry, soursop. Beautiful Bally V&B alchemy.

A real beast of a Bally, this is really really intense, tropical goodness. This is a lovely show of really the ester intense Bally rum that also has the typical floral notes in a spice package. I think this is peak Bally.
