Neat at 56% it comes on hot — sharp alcohol and nail-polish varnish up front, with pineapple and citrus pushing through once you give it air. On the rocks it settles: strong spice, pineapple and a little oak, then a long delayed burn in the chest. One taster notes the palate beats the nose. Surprisingly approachable for a Mhoba, less wild than they usually go.

#7214 25.08.2026 Enjoying some fresh samples I just got from my friend while listening to some new Psy Trance tracks on Spotify Thanks Henrik for the samples! Very good Mhoba especially when looking at the price tag. Here you get a lot for your money! Intense profile with overripe fruits, wood, herbs, leather, honey, polish, mint, floral, sugarcane, light rubber, roasted and a dry spicy palate.

This was interesting and I’m glad I had a chance to try this. On the nose this was quite intense and was definitely dominated by the sharp alcohol and nail polish notes with the fruit poking out. On the palate it was still intense but delivered a little more on the fruit. Not bad and would try more from them but also not rushing out to buy a bottle at the current prices for sipping. May do better as a mixer although I’m not one to spend what this would cost to integrate into cocktails.

On The Rocks: On the nose strong pinapple and citrus with moderate floral and spice with underlying alcohol. Taste has a very strong spice and citrus pineapple flavour with moderate oak and mild alcohol. Finish is long and has a delayed burn in the chest with a mild to moderate spice. This is a delicious and surprising rum that comes on strong and is an amazing sipper. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose Mild pinapple and citrus and spice. Taste has moderate spice and pineapple with pleasant sweetness. Very smooth mixed but has a short finish with no burn. It is a very different rum mixed but a shame to drink mixed.
