Sour peach rings, esters and toasted coconut up front, then roasted oak, burnt sugar and dried fruit underneath. This tropically-aged Clarendon EMB from Rhum Attitude drinks creamier and fruitier than you'd expect from cask strength, with a long dry finish. Most tasters find the alcohol well integrated, though a few call it a touch scratchy or hot. The peach-candy note wins people over.

Edit: tried again from the freshly opened bottle. Adjusted upwards. Tried Clarendon again after some time. RX17964 and RX20907 were tasted in parallel. Rhum Attitude feels a bit stronger compared to the V&M bottling, which in my opinion is a bit too thin. Therefore RX17964 is my winner.

8,2:On the nose, esters, glue and menthol, tropical, dried fruits and peaches, roasted wood notes with brioche, smoky, dry, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, various roasted wood notes show with pastry and caramel, spicy vanilla, some rubber and toasted coconut. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, fruity with tropical fruits and peaches, the molasses is herbaceous, as the wood is roasted, creamy with pastry, burnt sugar, marzipan, spicy with allspice, salty, slightly resinous, the oak presence is strong. 8,2:The finish is long, dry, the molasses is vegetal, grassy, the wood roasted with nougat, spicy and slightly resinous, fruity with dried fruits and peaches.

Store visit Rhum Attitude Brussels May 2025. Also an own bottling for Rhum Attitude, which I was allowed to taste on site. Of course we have esters and tropical fruits on the nose and palate. But here there is also some wood. Great.

Frankonians Tasting Gang - 21.03.2025 - Nuremberg: I bought the bottle during a trip to Brussels at the Rhum Attitude Shop. The quick tasting there was already promising. Now the joint tasting with the FTG and I'm quite impressed! You can immediately tell the tropical maturation. Fruity, spicy, with perfect wood influence. The 66.6% could be integrated a little better. But what I like best is the note of sour peach rings (the real ones from Trolli), which immediately takes me back to my childhood.

Amazingly good cask! In contrast to the EMB 2010 of the Flag Series, I find it somewhat better, beautifully creamy, alcohol super integrated.

Frankly impressed, the barrel is available in the store, and you can take your bottle home to have it filled, a great experience! Otherwise a young clarendon, a little dry, but very fruity, woody, it has character. I really liked it. The finish is a little short to get into the notes, but frankly top-notch.

Very nice surprise... a real price-performance grenade. For just under 70 euros for 0.5 liters a mega no-brainer. Great EMB value for money at a low price and that with 10 years of tropical aging. On the palate a bit scratchy, but at this price you can't complain. Great rum at a more than fair price. Wonderful nose with guava and sour peach rings.

Really good and fruity Clarendon. Better than the Flag series and the alcohol is a little better integrated. Almost creamy and fruity with a great sweetness of caramelized peaches! I find the flag series much more complex but also more bitter and floral. Personally, I would definitely prefer the Rhum Attitude here!

Sehr leckerer Rum. Keine Ahnung was es ist, aber hier passt nahezu alles. Alkohol super eingebunden, schöne Holznote, leicht getoastet, nussig, Trockenobst. Schön langer Abgang. Auflösung: EMB mit 66%. Geil !

Premier nez : beaucoup de peche, un joli boisé, quelques fruits tropicaux et du sucre brun légèrement caramélisé. Sur le second nez, un peu de fumée et quelques esters. La bouche est assez huileuse, avec les éléments précités. Une légère touche d eucalyptus également. Fin de bouche un peu seche et tannique. Finale courte. Un joli rhum à ce prix. Manque un peu de corps et de présence en bouche. A noter que l alcool est parfaitement intégré.

Die volle tropische Reifung puscht diesen jungen Clarendon ordentlich nach vorne. Ester, Lack, tropische Früchte, leichte Gebäcknoten und Pfirsich an der Nase. Am Gaumen kommen noch gebrannter Zucker, Piment, Holz-und Röstaromen hinzu. Der Abgang ist lang, trocken, leicht blumig-grasig. Der Geschmack nach Süßholz Malzzucker und Krokant bleiben zurück.

Already beautiful. At first it smells like a nice Martinique with a delicate hint of Esther. Totally different in the mouth, alcoholic at first, somehow sweet. Not quite round. Again the association with Agricol, please don't stone me... All in all, a nice rum that could also end up with me.
