This 2009 TDL, bottled at 62.9% by The Whisky Jury, hits peach, mango and a big menthol-eucalyptus lift, then turns dirty with smoke, tar and a salty, bacon-like twist some tasters find. Very nice on the nose! This definitely gravitates towards the beloved profile of the 2000s bottlings. Mint, herbs, plenty of tropical fruits with some sweetness and vanilla notes. The very same is true for the notes on the palate. Brilliant cask selection from TWJ.

I love tasting this rum. Even the nose hints at what you can expect from it. A colorful fruit basket decorated with mint. It really comes into its own on the palate. It takes no prisoners and immediately shows what it is capable of. Completely mouth-filling, astringent, fruity. The mint is just a companion, albeit a not entirely insignificant one, which is just right in this case. The alcohol is excellently integrated, the finish is very long. Second tasting: +2 points

I have the TWJ and the Dram Mor TDL 2009 in my glass at the same time. The TWJ was sold out in minutes, the DM is still available in many stores. After a few minutes the nose is still so similar that I can't tell the difference, maybe the TWJ has a bit more vanilla and caramel, DM is a touch lighter. The DM is probably reduced to an even 58%, the TWJ has almost 5% more. But that's already the biggest difference (which is barely perceptible). In the mouth, the profile is so similar that I could never identify them. Again, the TWJ is a touch darker, the citrus is more orange peel than lemon peel, there's some sweet caramel to it, which makes it a bit rounder. The finish is slightly more intense, a little less sour, but again a little caramel, this time a little toasty. The TWJ is somewhat more pleasing overall due to the nuance of dark caramel, but not enough to put it one point ahead of Dram Mor. Super TDL and once again one of the best from the 2009 batch. Update: Three times TDL 2009, all three released within one year. I've had Dram Mor and TWJ together in the glass before and could hardly tell them apart. The three rums are also extremely similar in the rest of the tasting. The Dram Mor brings a little more acidity in the mouth, the FRC is the biggest fruit bomb with an intense mango note, the TWJ is very similar to the FRC, a little wilder in the mouth. In the end, the same score for all 3. A super batch, very tasty!

Fresh notes of mint, eucalyptus, tropical fruits; green herbs and tobacco notes that add spiciness and light earthy aromas, as well as wood influences from the barrel. Aromatically complex, lively on the nose and palate - an excellent TDL.

The second 2009 after the DramMor.. and I like it much better. Although it has the higher ABV, I find it much more harmonious, especially in balance with the fruit, mint and herbs. It just fits here. No side is too dominant. The finish is also softer and more elegant. A great bottling. 👍🏻

Nose Fresh, balanced, wood, light roasted, fruits, light mint, light earthy, light orange, faint anise, light polish. Palate Oily, balanced, round, wood, faint smoke, fruity, light citrus, light berries, faint chocolate, light tea, light polish. Finish Long and warm, wood, light roasted, light berries, light mint, light chocolate, light anise. Empty glass Light licorice, vanilla, light chocolate, berries, light mint.

Very very awesome 2009 TDL. Peach iced tea with pleasant roasted and spicy aromas. Especially the mint-black tea-peach combo is unmatched. The other aromas support this combo excellently.

Personally, I like these 2009 ones a bit more than those mint bombs from the early 2002/2003. For under 100 € back then, you can't go wrong here. T.D.L., as everyone knows, is no longer my absolute favorite profile but I still really liked it.

Tasting a 3cl sample. 👃 Nose of crazy complexity. Every time I smell the glass, new aromas appear. Beyond the classic combo of peach and menthol, I find mixed: - a slice of pastries, butter caramel, vanilla caramel, - fresh mango full of sugar, - old Cognac Ugni Blanc barrel bringing various spices (cinnamon, nutmeg) and especially a typical smell of smoked bacon, dried meat from Grisons, - then some notes of gasoline, essential oils, wood care products and a very slight peaty aspect! 😋 Ah! We are well at TDL. Characteristic note of mint, menthol, eucalyptus. The snacked peach accompanies it in a vanilla and caramelized woodiness. The fruits are not left out with a beautiful mango, bitter orange zest and bergamot. Also a very dry side on black tea, tobacco leaves, light hemp. ⛳ Long, tasty, warm, astringent, very fresh, mentholated (vicks vaporub), juicy vineyard peaches, small dry peppers, dried black berries. The barrel also brings leathery and tannic notes. 💡 My sample must come from a bottle already well opened and that's good. Oxidation brings a lot of complexity and new aromas different from those described in other reviews. 🏆 To date, one of the best TDL 2009 I have tasted with the Colours of Rum Up Spirit Club. Intensity, finesse and evolving. A nose close to perfection.

And here again a nice TDL, I like these young bottlings from 2001 onwards. The minty and menthol notes are terrific and I really enjoy them. This rum also fits seamlessly into the classic profile.

A really good T.D.L. which delivers everything you would expect from a high level but also kind of average one. It is complex and balanced but on the other hand nothing really stands out. I definitely prefer the second T.D.L. from TWJ which had some additional herbs and richer caramel. Nevertheless, highly recommended.

The 2009 vintage at TDL was very successful. And the whisky jury usually has a lucky hand. On the nose lots of mint, a bit of fruit and a hint of technique. On the palate it's a sweeter profile, where mint is dominant and a bit of spice. As it moves to the finish, there is more and more mint. Perfectly integrated alcohol.

Clearly fresher and mintier than the Roots on the nose, but less fruity and complex, still I like this one more. Oh yes, the palate rounds it off, there's the TDL DNA I love.😍 Minty fresh, alcohol better integrated and not quite so woody and bitter. Really awesome stuff, with a long finish.👍🏻 I'd take a bottle of that. 😉

Beautiful matte for a bottle under 100e. Although alcohol can be felt, but very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginners for discovering new flavours. Mata from TDL is an unmistakable taste that you will never get tired of.

First nose of mint and lots of peach. A real ice tea flavour! On the second nose, there's smoke and a real garage feel. Ah, this nose is top-notch! The palate confirms this magnificent nose, everything is there, with a slightly dirty, even salty side. The palate is oily, with a punchy but very well-integrated alcohol. The finish is relatively long, with peach and menthol. Superb fut selection!

This is a great TDL. Dirty from start to finish which just works well. Mouth is barrel and mint with menthol and some complex green notes. Finish is leather and menthol, with complexity and wood. Medium punch with mint, tannins and some dirty tar notes. Long finish with mint, leather and tannins.

A very nice TSP. I like it very much. The nose is very similar to the Dram More. On the palate the 4% more fits very well and gives more warmth and length. Otherwise very similar to the Dram More bottling. Really fun.

29/11/2025: private tasting @ Olivier. This has to be one of the best TDL's I've tasted so far. The fruitiness is off the charts, with notes of peach and apricot. Awesome bottle to have on the shelf.

On the nose, crazy citrus with sickly grapefruit. A touch of smokiness, too. In addition to the grapefruit citrus, there's red fruit with blackcurrant. On the palate, we've got the classic TdL markers, with incredible peachiness and greediness. And the crème brûlée/caramelized brown sugar side. Incredible value for money.

Mahogany eye with copper reflections. Gourmand nose of subtle sugar, indulgent! Very dry and very aggressive mouth in terms of alcohol! Warm anesthetizing finish.
