Second tasting: A smooth and round Agricole. With lots of nuts, spices and red berries. Full-bodied on the palate, with a medium-long finish accompanied by roasted aromas. A great Agricole with a super PLV, unfortunately quickly sold out.

Hype ... Yes and no ... this is an extremely drinkable Agricole without any rough edges.... A mixture of nut, fruit and spice. And with an excellent PLV... for a top rating, however, it lacks depth and complexity!

I'm not giving it a score yet, as I'm not sure after the first tasting whether the current hype is justified. I have to admit that the rhum didn't knock my socks off as expected. At least on the palate, it seemed drinkable, but also somewhat indifferent and lacking in character, whereas the nose was promising. Let's see how the evaluation turns out when the sample from @Leo arrives and the current cold releases me from its grip. Update 2023-12-08: The sample from Leo has arrived, I tasted it straight away - and can now clearly award points, and lots of them! This J.M is simply amazing! Really very successful and round, without any weaknesses, but with all the strengths that make it a top product. I like the slightly shy vanilla note on the palate, but even more the dark berry impression on the nose. For me, it's a contender for bottling of the year. All I can say is: thank you!

Richtig geiler Agricole! Während ältere Agricoles für meinen Geschmack schon zu holzig oder bitter sind, ist der Wu Dram genau on Point. Für mich genau die richtige Balance aus Fruchtigkeit und bitteren Noten, fast schon ungewöhnlich „wenig“ Agricole-Noten. Trotzdem noch klarer Agricole-Character und damit für mich eine der besten Abfüllungen seit langem, was diesen Stil angeht!

Im Vergleich zum 2014 Kirsch wirkt er etwas J.M. untypischer, für mich sind beide auf dem gleichen Niveau obwohl sie doch unterschiedlich vom Geschmack sind. Hätte mir von dem WuDram ein bißchen mehr erwartet. Der Kirsch hat für mich das bessere Preis Leistungsverhältnis.

Eine wunderbare Farbe! Typisch J.M, diesmal mit Keksen und Kokosnuss. Kräftig, ausgewogen und gute Integration des Alkohols. Eine richtig tolle Nase. 🤩🤩🤩 Sehr warm und vollmundig. Würze und getrocknete Früchte. Perfekte Trinkstärke. Hammer-Abgang. Wärmt zuerst den Mund und dann ein schönes Aromenfeuerwerk. 🎇🎇🎆 Richtig guter J.M mit Foursquare-Einschlag. Wow! I've never smelled and tasted a combination like this before! Homemade red fruit jelly with vanilla pulp meets dark chocolate, meets Earl Grey tea with plenty of bergamot and subtle lavender and walnut. Incredibly mild and dangerously drinkable. Absolutely awesome stuff! For me, the young agricole brut de fut discovery of the year! 😍😋

Tasting 16.10 Für mich persönlich ein runder Agricole. Ihm mag dir Komplexität fehlen. Dies macht er ab durch seinen Geschmack absolut wieder gut. Smooth- schöne Noten von Gebäck, Butter, Vanille gesellen sich zu Beeren und Schokonoten. Sehr dezente nussige Note, dir kaum vernehmbar ist. Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert. Irgendwie mein Equivalent zum Soulfood. Der Rum, zu dem ich greifen würde, wenn ich Lust auf etwas Angenehmes und Leckeres möchte. Für mich persönlich eine meiner 2 Abfüllungen des Jahres mit klasse PLV.

On the palate, the rum is much more settled than expected. Nuts, vanilla, chocolate and wood dominate, accompanied by a fine fruit sweetness and bergamot, which lends depth to the profile. Some sugar cane and vanilla on the nose, but less freshness than is typical of many agricoles. The overall impression is harmonious, more warm and spicy than lively, with a good balance between wood and sweetness.

#4988 20.12.2024 Relaxing at home with some samples. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, orange, grass, light polish, floral, dried fruit. Palate Balanced, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, oily, light grass, medium spicy, light citrus, light caramel. Finish Medium to long, balanced, medium spicy, oily, wood, light roasted, dried fruit, light citrus, light nutts, light caramel. The empty glass has light coconut and peaches as well as a light herbal note.

Ein super Agricole mit einem guten PLV. Ein insgesamt sehr runder Rum, mit sehr gut eingebundenem Alkohol und einem schönen langen Abgang. Zunächst aber kommen einem Noten von Vanille, Gebäck und etwas Mokka entgegen. Diese Aromen entfalten sich dann auch im Geschmack ergänzt um Kakao, rote Früchte, dunkle Schokolade und Walnuss. Ein cremiger Genuss perfekt zur kalten Jahreszeit.

Schon viel Gutes von dem hier gehört, kurz beim Sönke probiert und jetzt im Urlaub mit ganz viel Ruhe: Nase: einfach nur Wow! Intensiv, voluminös und vollmundig, konzentriert und sehr lecker. Reife, dunkle Cassis und Stachelbeere, getrocknete Blutorange, ein Hauch Papaya. Angenehme Süße von Honig, Toffee und weichem Karamell. Dabei würzig mit Maggi und Vanille, leicht malzig. Hat auch was von altem Calvados. Hervorragende, runde Agrocole-Nase. 9,0 Gaumen: auch hier wunderbar intensiv, vollmundig und kräftig. Zuerst deutlich Holzsäure, leicht bitter-salzig und spitz. Dahinter wird er aber sogleich weich, malzig-röstig, mit Lakritze und fetter Pekannuss. Dunkle Früchte zwischen Kirsche und Sauerkirsche, Stachelbeere und Papaya sowie Bitterorange. Hinten heraus mit einer angenehmen Mokka-Note und schwarzem Tee. Ein langer Genuss. 9,0

Eindrücklich rundes Profil. Satte Nussnoten mit karamellisiertem Zucker, vollreifem gebackenem Apfel und eingekochten roten Früchten. Am Gaumen kommt cremige Schokolade dazu, die das nussige Aroma in Nougatsüsse dreht, erneut sind auch fruchtige Noten roter Beeren und schwere zitrische Aromen von Orangeat dabei. Abgerundet wird das ganze von würzig-röstigen Fasseinflüssen. Sehr galantes Profil, ein easy sipping Rum, der seine Agricole-Natur zu keiner Zeit verleugnet. Toll!

Incredibly soft and well-integrated alcohol. Warming, fruity, little wood and grass - super relaxed and easy sipping for an Agricole. Especially the roasted aromas (espresso and dark almonds) in combination with butter melting on fresh pudding - à la bonne heure.

Er braucht ganz schön im Glas und entwickelt sich. Den ersten Schluck fand ich nicht so berauschend. Sehr guter, nussiger, trockener Agricole mit erstaunlich viel (tropischem) Fasseinfluss.

As usual I am late to the party and as everything has been said before I will keep it short: A really great agricole, complex and balanced and tastewise more on the vanilla, caramel spices side. The nose is also nice but the chemical glue is slightly off putting. Overall a really great sipper but also nothing to blow your mind. Nevertheless defensively worth seeking out a bottle for a decent price.

Für mich persönlich der beste Agricole des Jahres 2023 super süffig und rund! Tolle fruchtige und beerige Nase. Er wirkt am Gaumen nicht hoch komplex, bringt aber trotzdem tolle Aromen von Früchten und Schokolade mit sich. Er wirkt sehr ausbalanciert und Rund.

Best Rhum J.M I've had in a glass so far. And what one: extremely smooth and supple, a symphony of balanced aromas. Vanilla, raspberry (red fruits), chocolate, caramel, and other supporting flavors. Really well done!

Ein wirklich toller Agricole. In der Nase zuerst recht verhalten. Leichte Süße und Gewürze. Im Geschmack aber absolutes Brett, sehr angenehme Süße und sehr schöne Gewürze wie Vanille und Schokolade. Angenehmer weicher Abgang.

Diese Abfüllung des Wu Dram Clan präsentiert sich mit einem wunderschönen Mahagoni-Farbton im Glas, ganz nach dem Motto: Das Auge trinkt mit. Die Nase erinnert erinnert an die Rote Grütze von Oma mit selbstgemachter Vanillesoße. Dazu dunkle Schokolade und etwas nussiges. Am Gaumen setzt sich diese Kindheitserinnerung fort inklusive dem cremigen Mundgefühl. Der Abgang verhallt mit einer angenehmen Honig-Süße und leicht grasigen Anklängen. Dieses Destillat mit 53,3% katapultiert die Erinnerung an Omas Nachtisch ins Erwachsenendasein!
