Clarendon Plantation Jamaica 2012 (Exclusively Bottled for Belgium)
A niche, for-experienced-palates Clarendon with an unusual dry Calvados finish. Expect apple brandy notes, grape and honey over sharp alcohol, pepper and roasted spice. Most RumX members find it rough, best with plenty of air or in mixed drinks rather than as a serious sipper.
- Interesting finish
- Very dry profile
- Honest, no dosage

Quite astringent! I don't really like it!

I actually like Calvados and it can also work well as a finish. But unfortunately it didn't here. Very one-dimensional and boring. You can't speak of a harmonious addition of both facets here.

Unpleasant rum. Bitter and spicy. Calvados experiment failed. Reminds me of the subterranean Clarendon from RA (RX2803), made even worse by the Calvados finish. A dust-dry rum that can only be credited with the fact that it almost certainly has a dosage = 0. No recommendation.

Oweia, unfortunately that was nothing. Which rum was it supposed to be, or was it just a bad Calvados? You never know. Definitely not for me. Old sample destroyed, cola and ice in, chopped underneath.
