Rum Shark Appleton Jamaica Single Cask Selection 2007
Nail polish, glue, rubber and hospital-grade iodine hit first, with dried fruit and a bit of tropical fruit trying to peek through. One taster called it "veeery technical," and that's the whole story — 16 years, cask strength, and heavy on wood, menthol and solvent. Several people even doubt it tastes like classic Appleton, guessing Clarendon instead. Intense, oily, divisive.

Veeery technical. Little hints of fruit
Review by Matej
Where is that Jamaican funk? Aroma is technical. I noticed combination of wood, lot of spices, smoke, some sweet scents (dark chocolate?) and almost none fruit scents, what is truly shame. In taste I noticed lot of spices with sweet flavor but also there is a lot of wood and smoke, which makes flavor itself very heavy (not in the good way). There are some technical flavors (rubber and nail polish). Finish, in my opinion, had average duration. I noticed spice, rubber and smoke. I tried and gave this rum second chance, but no. This is not good sample of Appleton rum not to mention, sample of rum that has higher price range. I think this is very average rum (in a bad way) that I can not recomended at all (not for that price).

This is a blast! Mahogany colour and smell like a hospital, brutally technical and petrol in the background, slightly strong in the vein. The taste is slightly minty with a long finish and combined with a technical glue. Very interesting!

Ein ziemlich extremer Rum! Volle Granate Möbelpolitur, Lack, Benzin, Holz, Menthol.
