The handful of tasters here mostly land on "pleasant but light" — a gentle, easy-sipping Trinidad from the softer end of the TDL profile. Toffee, menthol and dried fruit on a delicate nose, then tea, fine spice and peaches on the palate. At 57% the alcohol doesn't always sit cleanly, and a couple of members wished for more punch. Give it time in the glass and the fruit comes forward.

A pretty good TDL impaired by a bad alcool integration. The lrofile is typical from Angostura, just in the light part. Yellow fruits, some freshness and light wood are the main traits of this rum that in the palate results pretty weak except for the alcool

08/05/2026: Road Rummers S09T05 @ TastToe. Oh, what a beautiful surprise! Very tasty TDL, with loads of fruity notes. The peaches are very present, but I didn't detect any mint. This was the clear winner of the line-up, by a wide margin.

Today a return of a rum recently tasted at my buddy Selvam's: Watt Rum TDL 2007 — 57.1% Vintage 2007 — 16 years old (half tropical / half continental aging). TML = T = Trinidad M = Main Rum Company (broker) L = Light (light profile) Profile: rather light and subtle — delicate nose, very accessible. You find a mentholated side and fine spices, on a soft base of vanilla and honey. Finish a bit short, but overall very pleasant to sip. In short: an elegant rum, easy to share in good company. And you, did you know this bottler Watt Rum?

#1739 07-03-2026 - Rate 7.9 Whiskymessen Kolding 2026 This is a pleasant rum but nothing more then that. Not much power on eather nose or taste. Very neutral. Like a very light TDL. Really missing something in the taste

Subtle nose, toffee and some menthol. Easy drinking with tea and menthol. Short finish with sap and menthol. Lights spice theoughout. .
