"An unusual Foursquare," as one taster put it — and the coconut is what people notice first. The nose is soft and gourmand, all coconut, pineapple and demerara sugar, with a faint varnish edge. On the palate it turns sweeter and more chocolatey, though several found the finish short and a touch spice-forward. Easygoing rather than heavy, and at 54.4% it stays gentle.

On the nose, it seems very sweet, fruity, with a hint of coconut. No doubt about its origin. On the palate, it's as fruity and sweet as ever. The coconut is very present. Cocoa on the finish. Not very long finish, with cocoa notes too. Very pleasant. 2nd tasting: very much in line with the first. Rather greedy and pleasant. Less fruity and spicier than the 1st tasting, but more gourmand. Very cool.

Very indulgent and very pleasant nose dominated by coconut, pineapple and Demerara sugar. In the background a slight varnish spices up the whole. On the palate, you lose (unfortunately) the indulgence and fruitiness. The spices and wood take over and in the finish only the spices remain. Far from the best Foursquare I've tasted despite a great nose but still a pleasant rum.

... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday drinking. It is a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a gentle, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
