Rum Friendly Club Advent Calendar, Day 7. A pastry nose with coconut, lots of sweetness, brown sugar, yellow fruit, vanilla and cedar wood. Sweetness on the palate too, with more pronounced and bitter wood, beautiful fruit and a little acidity that gives a pleasant freshness. The finish is rather short, although the woody bitterness lingers for quite a long time.

Belize Tasting with DomM The last in the series, the alcohol is not well integrated in this one either. The more I was surprised by Fiji tonight, the more disappointing Belize is. Sorry, I definitely don't have to have any more.

I got interested in this rum because of the good reviews. Indeed, this Belize rum has a dreamy round nose and the alcohol is well integrated on the palate. Very roasted, extremely much bitter chocolate, woody and also intense vanilla. Unfortunately, I miss some fruit to rate the rum towards 9/10.

What a beautiful Belize rum! Very powerful, intense, lovely nose with grated coconut, vanilla and dried fruit. Reminds me very much of a good Foursquare rum. Convincing on the palate again: I find all the aromas of the nose again. The alcohol makes quite a lot of steam. Better with water! The aftertaste tends to be slightly toasty. I can say without thinking twice: this is the best Belize I've had in my glass so far. I particularly recommend this rum to those who have previously enjoyed Spanish-style rums and generally as an introduction to rums at cask strength and for experimenting with the addition of water. The price-performance ratio is hard to beat!

8,2:On the first nose, the first impression we get is a quite rigid rum with some medicinal/roasted notes, as roasted nuts and nail polish. Alcohol is not integrated very well. The rum is dark with thick molasses, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, herbal with black tea and dry with dried fruits, some bourbon notes, spices. Aeration brings out different facet of this rum, as becomes lighter and woodier with raisins, dried apricots, candied fruits and caramelized yellow fruits. Now it is delightful, yet we get another wave of new notes when rested at least 30 minute with berries and nougat. On the last nose we get some lime peel, rubber and it becomes a bit tanninic. 8:On the palate, the first attack is heavy and rigid with buttery cocoa, vanilla and dry with dried fruits, very peppery spicy. It is very woody, there's caramel, black tea, is bitter with roasted notes. After half an hour it opens, becomes gourmet and sweet with dark chocolate, caramelized confectionery, brown sugar. We receive another wave of notes later with citruses, tannins, after quite a while, it is very velvety with chocolate fudge, nougat, licorice and brandy notes. 8:The finish is at first dry and woody, quite intense with roasted nuts and tannins, dried fruits, spicy. When the rum opens, we get a different story, as the rum is fresh, lighter with brandy, dark chocolate and honey, nougat at grand final. It fucking opens up, when well rested, 8,7 then.... 🤘Very complex...It becomes fucking wonderful after 30 min of oxidation... 🤪..

Full blast Toffifee, roasted coconut chips, mocha and dark chocolate with fleur de sel and all with an unbelievably thick, oily mouthfeel/texture. Alcohol is practically not noticeable and thus very well integrated. Really good Belize single cask I must say, though almost a bit too sweet and personally a bit too little fruit and complexity for me. But really extremely drinkable and dangerously delicious. 2008 is also a really good vintage!

#4768 09.07.2024 Relaxing with a few samples at home. Nose Fresh, light wood, dried fruit, faint coffee, faint marzipan, light chocolate. Palate Oily, complex, balanced, wood, light roasted, light coffee, light chocolate, naturally sweet, faint coconut, light caramel. Finish Medium to long, balanced, naturally sweet, oily, light chocolate, faint coconut, dried fruit. The empty glass has vanilla, light nutts and light peach to it.

A great Belize. With a convincing and very warm long finish. Notes of cocoa and coconut come to mind. The taste is full-bodied dark chocolate, caramel, mocha and vanilla. A really great bottling with a very good PLV.

Rumclub No. 41 Belize 2008. Also a great piece. It's on the sweeter side, but quite mild. Tolerance nose, vanilla, chocolate and coffee can be detected here. On the palate then caramel, chocolate and vanilla. Really delicious.

Today to finish as a bottlekill dram again the RC#41 from Belize. Even after multiple tastings, this rum remains in my view a very strong representative of its country! Typical Belize notes on the nose and on the palate! Every sip here is worth its money!

The best Belize I've had in a glass so far. Heavy and deep, seems older. The finish is like driving a sports car beast onto an empty highway via the acceleration lane and then just stepping on the gas - you are simply gripped and never let go. In other words: an endless and almost unbelievably gripping finish.

Oiii childhood memory! My father often brought the purple Quality Street candy tin from his London trips. And this is very similar: nougat, coconut, toffee, vanilla. Really tasty if you like these sweet, heavy notes. Only the alcohol has a slight sharp edge. But overall very good!

Best Travellers!?, I've had in the glass so far. Like with Ed.38, the profile strongly leans towards 94er NY, which I really like. Top value for money! Also on the 2nd tasting from the freshly opened bottle, it pleases.

Great rum, which appears rather subtle on the nose with roasted coconut flakes, but then unleashes real power on the palate. A pleasant sweetness somewhat counters that, but the mouthfeel remains very dry.

Verdict: great suff, reminds me very lot of a bottle of Jack Daniel's single barrel. Very roasted, syrupy, woody. In the beginning there is a whiff of coconut and Schwarzwälder Kirsch, but this fades quickly into a roasted, rounded and oaky profile. Nose: sweet and roasted, but a bit "tensed" in the beginning (high ABV). A few drops of water help to release this tension. It gives way to a mix of Rafaello and Schwarzwälder Kirsch cake with some brandy in it. Then damp wood, oolong tea, vanilla, and syrup. The longer it stands, the more influences of peach, leather, and a hint of tobacco start to take over. Gets more bourbon-like. Taste: wow, really full-bodied, thick, and bourbon-like. It's utterly roasted, woody and sweet. A lot of cask, tobacco, leather, almost shoe polish, peach on syrup, caramel and vanilla. The coconut is less present than on the nose. Quite some baking spice, a hint of charcoal. Finish: long, sweet, with a nice backbone of wood, baking spice, leather, tobacco and peach on syrup.

I haven't had Belize often in the glass and had relatively low expectations. But this is a strong release. Very nice roast note, spices, great wood note, a bit nutty, dark chocolate. Quite complex and with subtle NY94 hints. Only that it brings relatively much sweetness bothers me a bit.

Wow. So many memories of split ice on the nose with loads of tropical fruit. Then typical Belize - coconut - here more like the shreds. A little of that is also noticeable on the palate. It remains lightly sweet but cocoa and vanilla dominate. The alcohol is noticeable but unfolds a wonderfully strong aroma here. Very successful Belize 👍 Flensburg remains the most intense for me but this one at least has the nose ahead this time.

Great Belize rum with glue and coconut as well as plenty of chocolate from nose to finish. This is simply a perfect Spaniard that I now often prefer, for example, over Jamaicans. What must also be said is the completely perfectly integrated alcohol, which is not always the case with Belize rums.

Needs some standing time until the ABV gives way and the bite fades. Then nutty notes, caramel, cask, milk chocolate come through. On the palate spicy, nutty, cream candy. The high ABV carries the long finish.

A rum both gentle and of great intensity. The profile could be mistaken for a Foursquare: coconut, raisin, sweet notes of caramel, chocolate, coffee, wood, roasted hazelnuts and all kinds of spices fill the nose with indulgence. The profile is generous and surprisingly smooth. The profile is warm and intense on the palate. The aromas harmoniously settle on the mouth cavity: you find toasted wood, warm spices (chili, pepper), dark chocolate, coffee, nuts (coconut and tree nuts), raisins as well as very intense pastry notes. The roundness is marked by caramel and brown sugar. The alcohol is present but well integrated in this mass of sweetness. The finish is long, consistent and opulent, sensual and intense. Caramel, crème brûlée, the previously mentioned fruits and dark chocolate prolong the gustatory pleasure. The spices and wood are marked but not overwhelming. A powerful but very drinkable profile, very well mastered throughout.

Very awesome Belize, for me somewhat atypical, as it has rather less light tropical fruits and is spicy instead, but lots of wood, coffee, very dark, dried fruits! Absolutely awesome bottling that I really like in the glass.

Nose is dominated by alcohol. Nice intensity and more complexity vs. some of the other Belize in our cross-tasting on the palate. alcohol integration isn‘t very good, however. Finish is long and intense adding some complexity.

A very nice Belize rum! On the nose first light notes of wood and vanilla, then in the background a marzipan note joins in. On the tongue then relatively light sweetness and strong taste of woody influences, again vanilla and distinct coconut and marzipan. It very much reminds me of the Asian dessert from Thailand: Luk Chup. A dessert made from mung beans and often garnished with candied coconut fibers - exactly this taste is reflected in the rum. Really great! The alcohol is very well integrated, but for me it is a bit too charming, could come across more edgy. But overall it is really great, especially for the price!

Very good and surprising rum. The nose is excellently intense, round, and fresh. Exotic fruits and young wood, a bit of chocolate and varnish. On the palate strong, intense, and woody oily taste. Sour cherry, chocolate, and solvent or varnish, very good round taste. In the finish long warm intense woody and a bit bitter.

Typical Travellers tones are overshadowed by the time spent in the barrel. Nice cinnamon notes. Overall the nose is weaker, gentler. On the palate, velvety lingering coconut, dried fruit, coffee. Great warming cinnamon, coconut and praline finish.

Tasted a sample and needed to buy a bottle because this is one of the best Belize out there and for a great price too. Very chocolate-cocoa-coffee type of thing and not much fruit. But I don't mind in this case. Very intense with it being 66% but I think quite well integrated.

Can also tolerate water: Nose still full, wood, leather, chocolate, dark fruits, great; tongue without water a flaw (glue), better with water, still alcohol sharpness, hardly any sweetness, very spicy, similar to the nose, I find the Ed. 38 clearly better
