S.B.S Guadeloupe Red Cane (Single Origin Rum)
One taster called it "true to its origin" — bright, grassy and citrusy with a touch of salt. This unaged Guadeloupe cane-juice rum leads with fresh sugarcane, cut grass and a distinct olive note, plus grapefruit and orange peeking through. Not the wildest agricole out there, but clean and honest. At 57% it runs warm, so many reach for it in a ti punch.

On-line tasting of the S.B.S origin series with Joshua Singh organized by rum explorer 24.2.2025 Today's masterclass will consist of two parts - today we will taste pure rums, next time we will compare in daiquiris. I'll add a cocktail evaluation later.

Pub LiQ Bar Düsseldorf March 2025. On the nose we have sugar cane, this rum smells herbal and fresh. Grass and olive are added on the palate. Actually very good, but you have to be in the mood for it somehow, I'm not at the moment :(

#4789 21.07.2024 Got a set of unaged samples from a friend and had some time to enjoy them during the day. Nose Fresh, round, citrus, light vegetal, sugarcane, fruity. Palate Round, fresh, balanced, fruity, berries, sugarcane, citrus, lightly spicy. Finish Medium long, fruity, citrus, light sugarcane, warm. The empty glass has light floral notes. Though this rum was made for mixers it also does pretty well as a sipper.

Solid canne rouge! You can definitely make delicious ti punches with it and it almost comes close to the Dillon Canne rouge, just not quite as balanced and tasty in direct comparison. But for the price, it's a good choice.

Red Cane, from Guadeloupe. Famous type of cane. Nose: delicate, but interesting. Flowers, olives, vegetal, roots, some green peppers, sugarcane, berries, sunflower seeds & vegeetable oil. Palete: medium intense. Fruity, fresh, grassy, olives, sunflower seeds, vegetable oil, flowers. And very interesting notes of sweet yogurt. Aftertaste: medium, sweet, fruity. Lot of grass, some olives, herbals, roots and touch of spices. Conclusion: so, it's very interesting rum. Not so complex, like French Antilles or Jamaica, from S.B.S., but still must try. Good experience !

Read full review →It doesn’t try to be the biggest, wildest, or fanciest agricole you’ll ever taste. It simply is something true to its origin. Bright, grassy, citrusy, and a touch salty in all the right ways. I really enjoyed this one
