Sipped neat, this is a dark, dry sipper: burnt caramel, dark chocolate, and a big hit of pecan and walnut. Distilled in 2004 and bottled by Cave Guildive at a full 66%, yet tasters keep saying the alcohol is well tucked in. One member even called the nose "Caroni-Like." A little bitter-burnt for some, but the nutty, roasted core is what people come back for.

Pretty good release and I really like the roasted and nutty notes. Pretty good balance between fruits and spice.

One of the better Nicaragua rums. A bit too burnt bitter but a nice note of roasted chestnuts, raisins.

Nose of candied fruits, burnt caramel as well as pecan and walnuts. On the palate, a lot of (dark) chocolate comes through. The 66% pack a punch and are somewhat dry on the palate. Also aromas like malt, mocha, dried fruits and again plenty of nuts. Alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Therefore, I like it better than the BerryBros. I keep coming back to this rum. Especially on an already moistened palate, it is extremely good. This bottling flies under the radar for me - like some from Guildive.

The drop gets better every time. Really super dark, barrel-aged with malt and caramel, dark chocolate. In the background a great nutty aroma. Tasted for the second time and raised the rating. Delicious! Update: Third tasting, raised again. Delicious!

Nose Caroni-like. Taste heavy, a bit dirty, woody, roasted, nice oily finish. The 66% are very well integrated. Top sipper.
