Dark berries, sour cherry and passion fruit up front, wrapped in charred oak, glue and a marzipan-pastry sweetness from the tropical years. Several tasters call this a softer, "not what you expect from Jamaica" Long Pond — fruit-forward with real wood spice. The finish turns drier and tannic, which a few wish was a touch fruitier. A 15-year ITP that rewards time in the glass.

8,9:On the nose, we get an estery, bourbonesque, damn' incredible rum. Yellow and tropical fruits, especially unripe banana are melted into a juicy marmelade infused directly in to freshly baked pastries topped with marzipan, creamy vanilla and crumbled roasted nuts. Yummy. Aeration brings out some coconut, caramel and mirabelle plum, gluey undertones.... Very round and balanced. 8,9:On the palate, the attack is with bourbon yellow fruits, tropical fruits like maracuja, banana, dark berries and cherry, spicy. There is a nice estery feeling. The wood is charred, caramelized, a bit resinous and dry with cream toffee, dark chocolate, nougat, there are delicious biscuits, with a pinch of salt, pastry and molasses dark, vegetal with mint. Damn' delicious. Round and balanced. 8,7:The finish is long, with charred, dry wood, vanilla, other spices, fruity with berries, cherry, banana, a bit musty and minty and tannic. Solid long pond, some esters, notes of dark fruit. Rather easy sipping, not particularly complicated. Alcohol well integrated, medium-long finish. Those who prefer expressive long ponds will not be happy here.

Very nice Long Pond ITP, for me still a bit on the wild side. On the palate, it brings a nice power. For the price, I would have expected a bit less, but was very positively surprised.

Great, more modern Long Pond. 11 years of tropical maturation show their effect. Great development in the glass, typical Long Pond aromas, which are generally very popular. I also like the label. Generally a nice 2007 ITP, which gives hope for a good future with this distillery.

Toller Long Pond ITP Fruchtige Nase mit Maracuja, Kirschen Orangenblüten und Klebstoff. Am Gaumen fällt er etwas ab aber immernoch sehr lecker nicht ganz so Fruchtig dafür mit Marzipan Plätzchenteig Notes ... Ich mag das Mark ITP immer mehr muss ich gestehen. Guter leckerer Rum.

Once again a mega tasty ITP 2007: passion fruit, sour cherry and oak on the nose with some glue. On the palate, oak and dark chocolate meet passion fruit and mint. Overall very astringent but still very balanced and tasty. Only the acidity is very dominant overall, but on the other hand it also makes the taste special.

A very exciting Long Pond. After some time in the glass, I found pipe tobacco very dominant, something I've never experienced with Jamaica. A real surprise. More typical Jamaica on the palate, very nicely balanced interplay of fruit and wood. Alcohol very well integrated. @Leo has dug up a nice rum 😉. I'd buy a bottle of that too.

#6259 19.01.2026 Relaxing with a few samples after work and bike training while listening to Yazoo - Greatest Hits, getting a bit nostalgic here. Nose Medium intense, round, balanced, light vanilla, light polish, fruits, faint glue, light floral, mango. Palate Fresh, round, light wood, light pineapple, mango, light glue, light chocolate, faint mint. Finish Long and warm, wood, light tannins, mango, light earthy, light chocolate. Empty glass light chocolate, vanilla, pastry, light floral, light tea, orange.

Ein wirklich toller Long Pond, der durch die lange tropische Lagerung wirklich komplex geworden ist. Holz, Klebstoff, tropische Früchte und etwas Ester begleiten einen von Nase bis Abgang. In Nase und Gaumen findet man noch Sauerkirsche und ganz leichte Vanille, im Gaumen dann gebrannten Zucker und dunkle Schokolade - einfach komplex.

Really awesome Long Pond, not what you expect from Jamaica, but I like it right now. Lots of awesome dark berries, especially blackberry and cherry, but you can also recognize passion fruit and mango here. Very tasty Long Pond.

Relatively inconspicuous on the nose but already with a certain sweetness. On the palate, there is already a certain variety. Mint with passion fruit. Also very sweet. Plus a great and long finish. Really a nice piece that leaves an impression.

Fruity ITP profile with fruits and tannins. Gets dry on the palate and rather spicy on the finish. Starts strong but has some weakness on the finish. Still solid release after some resting time in the glass

The 11 years of tropical aging have left noticeable marks on this 2007 ITP. Besides its wonderful variety of fruits, there is also a solid cask contribution in the form of strong oak spice with a latent tendency towards young wood tannin bitterness, which fortunately remains absolutely tolerable. The finish could be a little less dry for my taste, but otherwise a really fine rum.

Quite spicy and sweet on the nose with some fruit. On the palate, it's really tasty and spicy with quite good tannins, I imagine a little menthol in the background. Really tasty and round, but quite full-bodied, you have to like that. In the finish, the menthol note then turns into a slight bitterness. I like it quite a lot and I also think the price-pleasure ratio is right here.

The tropical years come out nicely through tropical esters with marzipan. The finish is a little too dry and astringent for me, a little more fruitiness would be good.

Already a very appealing bottle design. On the nose with lots of power, vanilla caramel with dark fruits. Taste initially sweet then acidity comes into play. Overall quite sweet but very tasty. Finish could be longer, but top.

C’est léger mais agréable , fruits tropicaux, fruits secs, massepain, vanille, caramel au beurre, un peu de bois Belle texture, ample en bouche, encore beaucoup de fruits, un peu plus de bois patine, légers épices & esters. Un côté pâtissier avec du nougat également. Finale un peu amère, entre fruits, bois et épices sur un fond de menthol assez dark. Plutôt cool ! En même temps Long Pond ça me parle bien. Finalement moyennement longue mais super agréable, et alcool super bien intégré. Mon préféré pour le moment !

Quite a chimera, on the nose it is more on the herbal side (tea, tobacco) with sweet caramel, some roasted nuts and burned wood. On the palate there is nothing herbal to be found. Even more wood, a bit stringent but still nice, caramel, vanilla some molasses and some ester and wood polish. The finish is sweeter, some crème brûlée, toffee and loads of fresh vanilla that stays for a while. Overall it feels unbalanced and chaotic but I like it a lot.

Tasted and bought at German rum festival 2024. Absolutely amazing rum. For me the best rum price quality wise of the line up at the festival. We have savored this bottle over the past year and this fueled my appreciation for Long Pond distillery.

My favourite long pond I would not describe as a blind degu, however jamaica is undeniable. There's estery fruit in the aroma, and then there's a complementary tongue vibe in the taste that adds a bit of technical joy. Pleasant.

From what I tasted so far I like this mark alot. Creamy and dark berries. Light hint of sour cherry. Palate a bit light and a rather short finish for me gives this one a lower score. However great sipper!
