Precious Liquors Diamond 100 Aspects of the Moon #2 PM 2001
Apple is the giveaway here — baked apple and pear run right through the nose, more than you'd expect from a 22-year Diamond. Underneath sits the classic burnt-sugar, licorice and molasses of a Port Mourant pot still, with roasted wood, black tea and a whiff of rubber. The body reads a touch thin, and a few tasters found the alcohol a little sharp for the age.

How does Precious Liquors Diamond 100 Aspects of the Moon #2 PM 2001 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Baked-apple Port Mourant, light-bodied sipper Well-liked as an easy Guyana sipper with a proper Port Mourant burnt-sugar core; a couple of tasters find the body thin and the finish short.

8,6:On the nose, an apple(soon baked), tropical fruits like banana, citrus fruits, pears and dried fruits, roasted wood notes like caramel, slightly sweet, spicy with baking spices, strong barrel impact, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, yellow fruits and berries are out, creamy dairy, vanilla, the molasses is flowery, dark with black tea, licorice, slight smokiness. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is fruity with dried fruits like raisins and apricots, prunes, later apple, tropical fruits, the wood is roasted with burnt sugar, caramel, dark chocolate, spicy with allspice, peppery, as the molasses is flowery, dark with black tea, joined with metallic patina, some rubber. 8,3:The finish is medium long, dry and tannic, slightly furry, with smoky, roasted wood notes, spicy, slightly resinous and dried, tropical fruits, dark molasses with licorice and black tea..

An interesting different one, quite pleasant. Nevertheless, it didn't captivate me.

I doubted whether opening it was worth it because of the reviews, but I was not disappointed! A mix of tropical and dried fruits, lots of wood and roast aromas. Also some rubber, black tea and caramel mainly provide the subtle sweetness.

A strange weak Guyana with no conclusion at all.

Ahhh yeah, I can't really think of anything else to say about this one :-) Whoever came up with this, congrats. Solid rum anyway. That stuff was really tasty, thanks to Oli for that, you drinker 😀

First impressions in the mouth are low viscosity, a bland flavour profile and the apple that is already announced on the nose. A sweeter profile with more intense alcohol than I would have liked. Apple already quite common in younger Diamonds.

Tasted at Ian Burrell’s Masterclass at UK RumFest. For me it leads with the burnt suger profile that is typical of Guyanan rums and perhaps a Port Mourant. I had spotted the Precious Drops stand and though this might be their White Cat (particularly also because there was a second Guyanan rum which I thought could be the Black Cat). Turns out I was wrong on the bottle but right on the still and bottler - I think that’s more luck than judgement but I’ll take it! This was actually my favourite of the five tried in the blind tasting, and it had some well-heeled competition.

Typical PM profile, but clearly on the licorice/molasses side.

Tasted at German rum festival Amazing rum. Very easy sipper and fantastic taste. Another very good bottling by Precious Liquors.
