#5672 17.09.2025 Enjoying this wonderful sample I got from a very good friend. A truly wonderful rum but the price tag is a bit on the high side. Nose Fresh, medium intense, wood, light orange, faint chocolate, nutts, light grass. Palate Oily, wood, light roasted, naturally sweet, warm, light orange, fruits, spice, light nutts. Finish Long, oily, wood, light chocolate, orange, naturally sweet. Empty glass Vanilla, chocolate, dried fruit, light orange, light floral.

The nose is dominated by lacquer, solvent and polish. Beneath that then finely interwoven and complex licorice, citrus fruits, dried fruits, macaroons and grass. Very full-bodied and oily, woody and complex spice (licorice). Very long finish, dominated by warming citrus fruits and exotic spices. Overall a great rum that needs calm and time. It also reminds me of the Chantal Comte in the frosted bottle.

Tasted at the UK RumFest, and not a fully in depth tasting - overall impressions were of vanilla, pastries and fruit. Quite a complex rum. Very enjoyable. The Famille Ricci stand had lots of great rums on offer and guys were very friendly.
