Honey/Nectar I both nose and directly in taste. Short taste that ends in pure sugar with a note of artificial sweetener. A lot of people will probably like it, but it's not for me.

Very good for introducing a novice to the world of rum. It's smooth (taste and alcohol) with warm choco/caramel notes. Very good value for money. Easily offered at the end of a meal.

A little too sweet. And not very exciting. Typical Spanish with lots of caramel and vanilla. No special fruitiness or any particularities that make it exciting. I also find the price-performance ratio not good.

A rum from Panama that departs a little from the pure Hispanic tradition, with some slightly more developed aromas. The nose is sweet but quite varied, with floral and tobacco notes adding a little complexity to the classic spicy, caramelized notes. Fruit and chocolate are also present. On the palate, this is a sweet rum whose power has been toned down, but the woodiness is more perceptible than the usual sweet notes. The finish rests on spicy, vanilla notes, mainly with a hint of fruit. This is not a revolutionary rum, but it does offer a break with Hispanic tradition for the uninitiated.

Mild and complex: floral, tobacco, fruity, chocolate. Sweet, subtle wood on the palate, spicy vanilla finish with a slight fruity note. For the price you don't go too wrong but also not quite right.

I always like the classic Panama notes. Particularly present here with lots of vanilla. Milk chocolate, accompanied by dried fruit. The roasted/smoky aromas are clear on the palate. Too bad it's only 40%...

Really not a bad little sipper. It won’t supplant my preference for the drier Cubans and Puerto Ricans but I would finish this bottle if I bought it, which I won’t.

Spanish rum. Nothing special and interchangeable. Doesn't grab me because it's one-dimensional, very light and thin. Sweet notes on the nose and palate. Subtle cask aromas, vanilla and chocolate are pleasant, but everything is too thin.

10-year-old rum from Rum Nation from Panama, aged in bourbon barrels. Unfortunately, the 40% is too dominant for the somewhat weak aromas. In the aftertaste of the alcohol, you can taste honey and barrel. Conclusion: Drinkable, but there are many better rums.

Nice light rum for in between or as a dessert. On the nose, a refined sweetness with vanilla, toffee, caramel. Unfortunately, the taste is relatively thin, watered down. The finish is very short and nothing spectacular. You can briefly notice the cask influence and some minor sherry notes. All in all, a very well-rounded product that would have a lot of potential in cask strength.

A rum that doesn't jump out of the glass. It smells sweet and pleasant. On the palate it is also sweet. To my taste buds a good beginner rum without big things. The aftertaste is short and if I tasted it against others I would have forgotten it in 2 minutes. It is acceptable and does no harm.

‣ Panama ‣ Varela Hermanos distillery ‣ molasses ‣ column still ‣ 10 years ex-bourbon The aroma is sweet, floral, caramel, with burnt sugar, wood notes, cognac and a little tobacco. Warm taste of honey, caramel, burnt sugar and chocolate, with a sense of woody caskiness, spices and less dried fruit. The finish is short, simple, slightly sweet chocolate. Rating: Uncomplicated Panamanian rum, a good choice if you want to start with unsweetened rums and you prefer the Spanish style. The spices and wood mixed with nice sweet panamanian notes, honey, vanilla, caramel and chocolate with a touch of dried fruit.

This traditionally distilled rum from sugarcane molasses from Panama shows itself soft, light and finely sweet in both smell and taste. In the finish you can still perceive light notes of milk chocolate and acacia honey.
