La Favorite La part de l’Ange (Sélection Spéciale Gabriel 2009 2010 2012 2013) 2023
Agricole drinkers who like a rounded, woody Martinique rum rather than a grassy fresh one will find a lot to enjoy here. Expect dried figs and apricots, pepper, vanilla and a toasted, well-used-cask character. Tasters call it rounded and easy to drink with real depth, though a few feel the vegetal, slightly young edge keeps it from full marks.
- Rounded and balanced
- Dried fruit notes
- Toasted oak finish

I was lucky enough to be on hand to taste this jewel when it is released in December 2023.
Review by Émile Shevek
The nose is elegant and fragrant, with sweet dried fruits (dates, apricots, figs), vegetables, young wood, hazelnuts, pastry, citrus. The palate maintains the same aromas with vegetal dominance (even something earthy) and added pepper. The whole round with little depth and body, a short, but delicious finish

I had the chance to taste this beautiful bottle in Martinique when it was released, it's very good, smooth, round, the blend is well chosen even if in the end it doesn't reach the quality of a lulu privilege.
