25.2.2025 Casa Havana Praha I smell a little something like citrus or grass in the aroma- cane leaf, grass wrapped in a bag in the taste mild, slightly spicy, slightly sweet, a touch of chocolate, orris, very pleasant

A rather monolithic and uncomplicated rum... Caramel, coffee and a little spicy. The alcohol is surprisingly present despite the 38%. Very short on the palate. In short, a rum that won't go down in history.

Day trip Düsseldorf September 2025. Mojito's fine cocktail bar. Then there's a 15-year-old Ron Varadero. A relatively pleasantly sweet rum, dominated by vanilla, (dark) chocolate and caramel.

Ron Varadero 15Y - 38% Produced in Santiago de Cuba, this Gran Reserva molasses rum is aged in solera for 15 years before being hand-bottled in the local tradition. Unsurprisingly, vanilla, dark chocolate, caramel and molasses dominate. Not bad, but rather monolithic, without much complexity. Short on the palate, it won't leave its mark on the lineup.
