Grassy, herbal and citrus-forward, with a resinous cedar-and-pine edge that leans almost earthy, like a walk in the woods. A few tasters catch glue and green bitterness, even a little soapy coriander. It's a young, intense agricole: at 65% most find the alcohol surprisingly well tucked in, though a couple wanted more oak and more age. Fresh, vegetal, a bit divisive.

Absolutely special profile that I hadn't known before. Definitely worth trying. The rather earthy components are in the foreground here. It tastes like cedar wood, pine needles and a wooden cigar box. Like a walk in the forest. Also had the taste of plastic and modeling clay. At the beginning, the profile demands a bit, alcohol integration is very good, the 65% are barely noticeable.

A La Favorite with 6 years and 65%, that makes me insanely curious. It has pepper under its butt and never hides it. On the first sip, I immediately thought of Chalong Bay with Shochu finish, which combines all kinds of crazy direct citrus aromas. With some standing time, a grassy/herbal profile increasingly comes out. The alcohol is not ideally integrated. Very interesting rum, I'd find it even more interesting with more aging time and still a decent ABV.

8,3:On the nose, typical agricole, sugarcane, musty, mineral, vegetal, herbaceous, grassy, slightly roasted wood notes with hazelnuts, damp with cardboard, confectionery, spicy with vanilla, citrus fruits, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the cane is flowery, earthy, yellow fruits arise, chocolate, pastry, butterscotch and slight smokiness, some glue. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is juicy with slightly sweet sugarcane honeycomb, green, musty and mineral, herbaceous, flowery, vegetal with root(slight bitterness), fresh with tea, grassy, as the fruits are dried with apricots, citrus and green with apples and pears, the wood is cedar, nutty, smoky, spicy. 8,4:The finish is long, dry, round, the cane is sweet with honey, mineral, grassy, herbaceous, flowery, earthy, pairs dried, yellow, citrus fruits and sour cherry, the nutty and spicy wood. A typical representative of the Agricolfrakrion. Intense, almost marshy, grassy green tones. Both the smell and the taste. Unfortunately, I miss the complexity here. The alcohol is extremely well integrated

Tasting at J. B. Labat. Like a vegetable pastry on the nose! Herbs and tropical fruits, vanilla. The palate is marked by vegetal bitterness, like an Italian Amaro. But also delicate floral and fruity notes. A noble bitterness accompanies the entire tasting experience. The finish is long, elegant and complex. The discreet wood appears with elegance. A beautiful, expressive finish and perfect integration of the alcohol. A delicious rum.

Wow, this is really great. Nose consists mostly of herbs. Also very vegetal, some agricole and glue are recognizable. On the palate also mostly herbs, again vegetal and some glue.

Tried blind, my first impression was Martinique! Fresh and young, very grassy, with some fresh esters leaning towards citrus. Then a bit sour at the end, which bothers me somewhat. After some sniffing and tasting, I was unsure where to place it because the sour fruitiness is quite dominant. After the reveal, it makes sense, since I've often found such citrus notes in La Favorite. Here they are just a bit too strong for me. Still an exciting bottling, especially since I didn't expect that much alcohol content!

#4667 23.03.2024 Relaxing at home after picking up two sets of online tasting in Flensburg. At the same time planning what to bring to Blåvand when I visit a fellow RumX from Germany. Nose Light roasted wood, faint smoke, fruits, light herbs, faint glue, grass, balanced. Palate Balanced, wood, light roasted, Agricole, fruits, light glue, faint smoke, light earthy. Finish Medium long, wood, dried fruit, grass. The empty glass has some tobacco and faint caramel notes.

Unfortunately not my thing, great nose of tropical fruits but also a lot of wood, glue, and taste-wise just very bitter, astringent and sour metallic. Especially musty and woody "wet".

Nose is an bit to dump and grasy for my personal taste, but in the palate this bottling is extremly nice. High intensity, loads of fruits and and agricole notes.

Determined by lemony freshness and herbal plant notes, this already offers a pretty interesting aroma profile, although there are also some soapy tendencies in the form of chewed coriander leaves at play. Additionally, the switch between the grassy-sweet sugarcane side and the resinous, cedarwood-like notes during the quite complex taste is, in my opinion, not entirely harmonious. Not my favorite!

On the nose you recognize the Favorite profile, it is intense, volatile and delicate with hazelnuts, dates, sugarcane, apricots, fruits, vanilla, vegetal and some citrus. On the palate it is warm, intense and enveloping with the same notes, but more pronounced, a bit of young slightly toasted wood and a fantastic and persistent earthy aftertaste typical of Favorite. It may be little aged, but I like it a lot and I find the ABV well integrated, it is softened by the sweet but short and volatile finish. I would have liked to find a more marked wood note, a few more years would have done good. Thanks to Tschusikowsky for organizing the split.

Very vegetal Agricole. Brings some sweetness, herbal notes, some citrus fruits. After some standing time the alcohol was well integrated. Actually a good bottling, but the finish was a bit disappointing. Olive with a slightly unpleasant woody note.
