A rum tasted at Rhum Fest in 2024 and with friends. The nose is very nice, with a balance between the woody, dark flavors and the fruity, pastry side. The palate is a little behind, with the same aromas but a little less balanced. The finish is long, with beautiful bitters counterbalancing the pastry side.

For me, walnuts and fruit brandy dominate the nose, followed by wood, candied fruit and spice. In any case, the typical character of Agricole is quite subtle. Sharper on the palate than the 46% would suggest. Lots of dark chocolate, oak, dried fruit and spice - and walnuts again. The long, pleasant finish is a consistent continuation of the impressions on the palate. Good J.M but in no way exceptional. Well suited to introduce the brand or Agricole in general.

Solvent, freshness, some cookie and dried fruit. Spicy and nutty. Perfectly balanced, power corresponds to the 46%. Beautiful nose!😀😀😀😀 Lots of pepper, caramel and wood in the mouth. A little watery. The finish is similar, with a perfumed note. A very good, drinkable agricole. Unfortunately, the nose promises more than is delivered in the mouth. 😎😎😎

Tasted this great AOC Agricole at Cane Rum Society (CRS) in Stockholm that has around 2000 different rums on their shelves. It’s a blend of different distillates aged between 6-12 years. The nose is fruity, woody, spicy and smoky with scents of dates, plums, figs, vanilla, cinnamon and hints of licorice. At the palate it’s well balanced, soft, fruity, spicy, nutty and a little sweet with flavors of cocoa, chocolate, toffee and pepper. The finish is rather long, well balanced, soft, fruity and spicy.

Well, I can't really get that much out of this J.M. While it is still relatively pleasantly fruity and "sweet" on the nose, it loses a lot on the palate. It comes across as too thin and watered down... the aromas hardly develop at all... but what bothers me the most is an off-note... somehow perfumed and soapy 🤷🏻 that's not my thing at all

A superb JM with everything to please. The nose is of great finesse, perfectly representing the distillery's DNA: lots of spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, licorice, pepper, cloves) that enhance the profile, slightly pastry-like on candied fruits and caramel, with fruits more turned to wine (grape) and brandy. A warm, sensual and attractive profile. On the palate, the rum is pleasantly fine, with good aromatic intensity for its alcohol content. Spices abound alongside dried, candied and exotic fruits. The mid-palate is very open, with roasted notes of hazelnut, chocolate and walnut. Pastry notes (toffee) continue on their way to greediness. There's hardly any greenness in this warm, balanced and terribly round (and good) profile. The finish is long, just as subtle and savory with its spices, candied and dried fruits (grape, apricot), and above all its slightly bitter toasted notes. A light floral breeze accompanies caramel and pastries. It leaves a beautiful imprint on the palate and a very good tasting memory. A high-caliber rum for its age and alcohol level, with no reason to be ashamed of other, more premium cuvées.

8,7:On the nose, the first impression we get is juicy sugar cane, mineral with tea and perfumed pastry. The second breath captivates us with dark chocolate or roasted cocoa, roasted nuts and dried fruits that gives us a feeling of pleasant, sweet dates, dried figs, prunes and sweet spices as cinnamon, vanilla and nutmeg. An aeration helps the rum to become even more round with some honeyed wood and creamy smoke, perfume. 8,3:On the palate, the first attack is with smoky wood, roasted nuts, cocoa and sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, as the juicy sugar cane river is smooth and mineral with tea and pastries. It is very complex, but less round as on the nose. The rum becomes dry, as it is still fruity with dried fruits. 8,3:The finish is long, woody, caramelized, a bit dry with dried fruits, spicy and warm with sweet spices, perfumed, a bit bitter with cocoa.

#5170 28.03.2025 Running through some samples at home. Nose Light, fresh, fruits, light wood, roasted, light chocolate, light nutts, light plum. Palate Fresh, round, light wood, faint smoke, light honey, light chocolate, dried fruit, cinnamon, light nutts. Finish Medium long, round, light wood, faint smoke, dates, cinnamon, light chocolate. Empty glass Light prunes, nutts, light sugarcane, chocolate.

Now I'm glad I resisted the "want to have" until I was able to try the sample. It doesn't convince me at all. Thin on the nose, thin on the palate, short finish. Too little of everything, just too much wood for its age. The very first impression on the nose is still very interesting, right after lifting the cap. But then there is nothing more, as if all the aromas are sucked away with the first breath. The only thing that helps is to put the lid on and wait a little before the next sniff.

Delicious nose with smoke, fruit (grape, prune, candied fruit) and licorice with wood. On the palate there is also a lot of nut and chocolate. But the aromas are somewhat fleeting and short and the rum - for my taste - a little too thin.

Nice agricole, but overall not convincing. the nose is still nice with some wood, licorice & fruits. Nice fresh grass on the tongue. But a bit thin and unround on the palate, paired with a short finish. Also gets bitter towards the end.
