Sample no.16 of the 24 days of rum calendar 2023. One of the better ones in this years box but unfortunately this is exclusively made for the calendar 2023. Caramel and sweet vanilla on the nose and the 43% ABV also comes through with a sharp alcoholic sting. Palate is smooth as silk with caramel, banana, vanilla and oak. Very nice sipper!

Er zeigt die typischen Demerara-Noten von Karamell, Schokolade, Vanille und etwas Eichenholz. Angenehm rund und leicht zugänglich. Ein solider Guyana-Rum für Einsteiger, dem allerdings im Vergleich zu hochwertigen DDL-Abfüllungen etwas Tiefe und Charakter fehlen.

Actually quite okay this rum. The first impression was relatively bad, but the second and third sip clearly improved my impression. This rum has a slight chocolate and caramel note. Quite okay.

Time to finish up the 1423 Christmas calendar "24 days of rum". This one had some oak and spicyness in the nose to me, and some spice hints of dried fruit and an oily mouthfeel. I find the alcohol could have been better integrated

Very caramelly/roasted in the nose (Diamond SV?). In taste a bit more fruityness and florality. A bit middle of the road demerara but still tasty enough.

Oh my goodness this is good!!! Smells like Pussers rum but tastes way much better. It is fairly sweet with typical guyanese tones such as dark chocolate, nougat but missing sort of raisins that I am used to at pussers. Spiciness comes up after short while which is pleasant I must say. So far probably the best guyanese rum that I have tasted. Maybe because it is fairly sweet but does not seem to be artificial. Much better than some eldorado, much better than pussers. Another sample from 24 days of rum 2023 that I would not hesitate to buy the whole bottle.

Mild aromatic nose, round on the palate, warm finish. For sipping, it's too unspecific for me; as a mixer, the 43% ABV still does its job. Overall solid.

C’est un très bon rhum ! Ce XO venant de Guyane fait très bien son taf ! En nez , on sent bien les épices et le chocolat puis en bouche , malgré ces 43% , il est particulièrement puissant et montre que le boire seul sans artifice suffit amplement . Du coup , je cherche actuellement à me procurer une bouteille pour l’intégrer à ma collection !
