Tasted at the incredible Rum Bar Room in Tokyo (September 2024). Decided to end the night with a flight of 3 Caroni rums. On the nose, this one presented like a classic Caroni at first - with petrol and very little sweetness. Given a short time to breathe, it started to show its elegance and complexity - caramel sweetness, a freshness, petrol and chocolate. On the palate, there is almost a candied sweetness, rich fruit, hints of leather and smoke to go along with some classic notes. Very suave, complex and delicate for a Caroni. Very enjoyable rum and one of the standouts of the incredible night.

Nose Medium intense, wood, light roasted, tar, rubber, medicinal, banana, light berries, faint citrus. Palate Intense, warm, wood, petrol, rubber, tar, light plum, light anise, light earthy, cinnamon. Finish Very long and warm, wood, roasted, medium dry, tar, rubber, dried fruit, light anise, faint herbs. Empty glass Herbs, tar, rubber, light nutmeg, faint mint, dried fruit.
