Sipped neat, this drinks like peach iced tea with a big herbal streak — mint and menthol up front, then mango, caramel, cocoa and toasted oak from the bourbon cask. Several tasters call it a real fruit-and-mint bomb, "very nice profile with plenty of mint and fruitiness." As usual, mint and menthol, very nice. Well-balanced rum; fruit, wood and spice with a clear herbal note work wonderfully here. Compared to other 2009 TDLs, it is also convincing. Solid with a very good PLV.

Doesn't pick me up: mint, lots of caramel sweetness from the barrel, some herbs, long finish. Alcohol content clearly noticeable. Not a bad rum, but just not my cup of tea. To be fair, I don't particularly like the TDL profile in general.

A real aroma bomb full of mint, a potpourri of tropical fruits and barrel influences, which add both bitterness and spiciness. This is flanked by a delicate sweetness that rounds off the release successfully for me. No, this is not easy sipping, it remains challenging, but also rewarding because it is multi-layered and aromatically lively - there is always something new to discover on the palate and the finish is also long-lasting. Great!

Typical 2009 T.D.L. with very distinct mint aromas, dried apricot, and peach tea. On the palate, there are also brown sugar and more stone fruits. The finish is a bit sharp. today compared with the COR 2009, which is a bit rougher and more challenging. for me, there's no clear winner today.

A nose of fresh, tropical, yellow fruits and a dirty, tarry, solvent side. Between these two extremes, well-integrated wood and a vegetal, minty side. The first palate is lively, full of all kinds of fresh fruit. The dirty side and the wood are supportive, giving this rum complexity. The finish is also fruit-forward, with the minty wood lingering longest and a fine bitterness at the very end. A sort of cold peach tea accompanies the whole tasting experience - amazing! Edit: tasted again and still delicious.

Schöne fruchtige Noten in der Nase. Am Gaumen ganz toll. Mango trifft leichte Minze. Macht richtig Spaß. Tolle Abfüllung, und zu dem Preis erst recht! Für mich ein richtiges Highlight! Edit: Der ist leider zu geil, den muss ich noch mal um 0.1 Punkte anheben. Edit2: Verkostet gegen den Vagabond Silva Collection TDL 200 / RX19262. In der Nase kommt der FRC sehr Fruchtig-minzig daher, der Vagabond eher rauchig-würzig. Am Gaumen der FRC dann wirklich sehr fruchtig, schön untermalt von den frischen Minzearomen, alles sehr harmonisch. Nicht außerordentlich komplex, aber sehr süffig. Ganz anders der Vagabond. Viele Kräuter, trockener und im direkten Vergleich wesentlich weniger fruchtig als der FRC, stärker im Antritt und auch etwas schärfer. Über allem liegt eine dezente Rauchnote. Der FRC wird mit etwas Wasser noch süffiger und easy-drinking als ohnehin schon. Zu viel Wasser sollte man ihm aber wohl nicht geben, sonst wird er zu flach. Der Vagabond wird mit etwas Wasser ebenfalls zugänglicher und gefällt mir so sogar etwas besser als pur. Der Alkohol beißt nicht mehr und er lässt sich besser trinken, seine einzelnen Facetten aus verschiedenen Kräutern und dezentem Rauch kommen besser zur Geltung. Im Abgang sind beide mittellang, der FRC mit mehr Frucht, der Vagabond mit mehr Kräutern. Unterm Strich würde ich sagen, dass der Vagabond vielleicht einen Ticken mehr Komplexität bietet als der FRC, der FRC mir persönlich aufgrund der besonderen Fruchtigkeit aber noch etwas besser gefällt. Beides tolle Abfüllungen, wobei der FRC das bessere Preis/Genuss Verhältnis bietet. Edit 3: Mit noch etwas mehr Luft einfach für mich der beste TDL 2009. Wahnsinns Teil!

Surprisingly smoky aromas on the nose, nicely minty and oily on the palate. Congratulations on the excellent barrel selection! Oh well, I also think the alcohol is very well integrated and the PLV is hard to beat. And the label is modern and attractive. All in all, this is how rum should be these days!

On aeration, the molasses is vegetal, fruits tropical with mango, berries with gooseberry, as the roasted wood brings leather, cocoa, smokiness, spicy vanilla.Some rubber is present after a while. 8,8:On the palate, the attack is very fruity with peaches, mandarine and lemon, fresh with green, minty and flowery molasses, tea.The barrel impact is strong, as the wood is roasted with caramel, leather, spicy with cinnamon, salty. 8,7:The finish is long, dry, as barrel impact stays strong, with roasted, spicy wood notes pairing peaches, mango, minty molasses. 2nd edit: Now also tested as a mixer, a really drinkable hit. Unfortunately, all the bottles are probably gone by now, otherwise I would have ordered more right away. Tasted briefly with Serge while sampling. First impression very good. Alcohol well integrated, which unfortunately makes it very drinkable. A very good price for what it delivers. Edit: also have a little taste like the other recently released FRC TDL in the finish, very subtle hemp taste, but of course not so extreme...

And the 3rd in 2009 after DramMor and TWJ... For me, it ranks between the two. In terms of characteristics, all three are quite similar and differ only in nuances. The FRC is not quite as present on the palate as the TWJ. The interplay between fruit and tea and herbs is not quite as balanced! All in all, these are three first-class bottlings

Small TDL (blind) cross-tasting with various vintages: Ranked 6th: Dram Mor TDL 2007. Overall flat and boring, rather Spanish style. 5th place: FRC TDL 2002. Lots of cannabis, beer and hops. You have to be into that and want it. I liked the nose better than the palate. 4th place: FRC TDL 2009. Reserved mint, lots of spices and cask influence. 3rd place: Single Cask Nation TDL 2003: Overall lots of mint and menthol, slightly floral/vegetal. Very good 2003 TDL, not quite on the level of Ricci in comparison. 2nd place: Spiritori TDL 2008. By far the dirtiest TDL in the tasting. Really good value for money! 1st place: Ricci TDL 2003: Mint, fruits and nicely intense and complex.

A rum that reminds me of peach iced tea - bombastic. Besides the mint, which is weaker on the nose than on the palate, you taste pleasant notes of wood, caramel, and tropical fruits - above all the peach! Pleasant oily texture; alcohol perfectly integrated. A dream of a rum. Edit: on re-tasting I had to give it 0.1 points more. Simply tastes first-class.

Nice, dirty TDL! It almost evokes associations with Caroni, even though the profile clearly belongs to TDL. Especially a slight mint in the finish I like very much. Strong cask selection through the bottleshop.

Insanely aromatic and almost dirty TDL! The typical menthol mint note is definitely there, but it's complemented by slightly bitter iodine notes, tanned leather, cinnamon, and peach rooibos tea, with an unusually strong wood influence. An absolute bargain for 100€, you can buy it without hesitation!

So watch out. This is a perfect minty Trinidad where the price-performance ratio is hardly beatable. On the nose, a ton of mint, a bit of fruit and spices. But it needs at least 20 minutes to unfold. On the palate mint, leather, spices and perfectly integrated alcohol. Awesome!

A beautiful T.D.L, which is strongly characterized by the maturation in bourbon barrels, which, in addition to toasty woodiness with plenty of caramel and vanilla, also brings a subtle sticky aroma to the rum. Unfortunately, this barrel entry slows down the fruitiness a little in the finish, but this hardly detracts from the delicious drop with its really well-integrated alcohol content.

On the nose: Fruity notes like peaches and passion fruits. Minty and menthol notes. Barrel notes. Light vegetal notes. Taste: Good minty notes and light menthol notes. Fruity notes. Tea notes. Then you get spicy notes, barrel notes and leather notes. The high abv is integrated very well. Finish:Woody notes, minty notes and menthol notes. Light sugar notes. Light vanilla notes. Spicy notes like peppery notes. Dry finish. Long finish. I really liked this TDL rum. Quite the typical palate for TDL rum, but the integration of notes was very good and i really liked the overall palate.

Drei mal TDL 2009. Alle drei veröffentlicht innerhalb eines Jahres. Dram Mor und TWJ hatte ich schonmal zusammen im Glas und konnte sie kaum unterscheiden.lmal sehen, wie sich der neue FRC schlägt. Optisch sind sie nicht auseinander zu halten. Auch der FRC hat ein sehr, sehr ähnliches Profil wie die anderen beiden: Pfirsich-Mango-Minz-Eistee. Vielleicht ist der FRC einen Hauch heller (Creme Brulee statt röstigem Karamell) mit einer Nuance Tabak. Im Mund ist er super harmonisch, ohne die leichte Zitronensäure des Dram Mor, eine echte Mango-Bombe. Das ist etwas zu gefällig, aber eben auch sehr lecker. Der Abgang ist lang, frischer und weniger bitter und menthol der als beim Dram Mor. Der TWJ war wieder FRC etwas heller, aber auch ih diesem Vergleich ist der FRC etwas runder, etwas gefälliger. Am Ende gibt es nochmal die gleiche Punktzahl für alle 3. Ein super Batch, sehr lecker!

Beautiful nose with roasted aromas, wood, leather and subtle mint. On the palate a dirty TDL profile with menthol, fruit, vanilla and wood. Powerful but great integrated alcohol, the 63%+ is not biting but carries the flavors well. Long finish, continues with more roasted flavors, leather and fruit before rim background. Super release with a great PLV! Appears much older than it is

Like, great T.D.L. In the nose you immediately notice fresh mint. There is also a hint of menthol. The palate is also mainly minty. Otherwise also floral/vegetable again. But an excellent rum.

Another sample from zabo ready for lift off… All in all a great TDL, pretty dry with subtle toffee and vanilla notes, some spices and herbs (mint / menthol). The nose is more in herbal side followed by a sweet caramelized palate with some spices. In the end the sweetness gets accompanied by some herbs and becomes vanilla-toffee-ish.

Not as blatantly minty as the RA 2001-2023, but more chocolaty, sweet aromas on the palate and more fruit on the nose. The alcohol is well integrated for approx. 64%. Great rum, owning a bottle of this is definitely not a mistake

The first thing that greets you in the glass are the roasted aromas - do we have a heavily burnt barrel here? It's also beautifully fruity and spicy. Lots of fruit on the palate. Very soft and round, I would almost say pleasing. Alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is also more relaxed and predominantly fruity. Great.

All in all a great TDL, quite dry with subtle toffee and vanilla notes, some spices and herbs (mint/menthol). The nose is more on the herbal side, followed by a sweet caramelized palate with some spices. At the end, the sweetness is accompanied by some herbs and transitions into vanilla-toffee notes. The bottle has been open for a while and has nicely developed.

Like almost every T.D.L it needs some time in the glass to fully unfold. Lots of mint, pleasant light sweetness, menthol, somewhat fruity and woody. Overall well balanced. Could have been a bit fruitier for me, still a nice bottling.

Very strong mint and menthol on the nose, everything else falls into place: caramel, cinnamon, cocoa, fruits, leather, roasted aromas/smoke. On the palate, the vegetal notes dominate, while in the long, sharp, and dry finish, toffee, fruits, and chocolate come through.

An absolutely superb TDL, dominated by fresh and then settled, slightly leathery/smoky (cask) notes, with earthy herbs. Alcohol is perfectly integrated at 63.4%. The "Caroni light" notes that sometimes accompany TDL are completely absent here and, for me, form a wonderful counterpoint to other bottlings. Highly recommended.

Beautiful matte for a bottle under 100e. Although alcohol can be felt, but very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginners for discovering new flavours. Mata from TDL is an unmistakable taste that you will never get tired of.

At the nose still really wonderfully intense minty. On the palate unfortunately a bit alcoholic, but the body is still nicely full. What if the rum had been allowed to mature for a few more years? Overall a very good TDL with potential to be really great.

Very good TDL from FRC😍 lots of music for the money. Beautiful mahogany color, leaves nice marks on the glass. Trinidadian ester aroma, light minty tones with wood. The taste is distinctly more minty with a long finish. Glad I have a stock again.

This is a great 2009 TDL. It offers the typical TDL profile but keeps the mint (that can sometimes be too present on other years) nicely in check. It has that almost mysterious taste of that tea and vegetal combination. Great rum!

After some distance and another tasting, I raise the rating. Mint is a bit of a diagnosis for Czechs and for me, but that doesn’t change the fact that it’s a great rum. And not everything always integrates well, here it more or less succeeded and at almost 64% it’s not easy.
