One more great rum from Malecon. I really like the Rare Proof series. This one is a little stronger than the 20yo which gives it an significant character. The thing with this series that makes them so pleasant is the richness and that they balance the sweetness with the rather high ABV.

This one is better than the Reserva Imperial of the same age mainly because of the ABV in my mind. I wonder how good the other versions would be if they were also having a higher ABV. A lovely and fruity rum with oak and spices.

Fruchtig, Würzig Lecker.. Die Eiche kommt schön. Guter Panama Rum
Review by Jarek
This Panama rum is now also too sweet for me, but I can't quite comprehend an average rating of around 7.0. A palatable entry-level rum with a little more power than the usual 40% in this segment

- Three yeas since last tasting and now the bottle is emptied. Way too sweet for me, but still not too bad.
Review by Boletus
At first, this rum has a really nice balance between fruitiness and mature wood aromas, but it becomes sweeter with every sip and is ultimately over-sugared in my opinion. Too bad, the maturity is there, the barrels were also of high quality...if only it weren't for this sugary aftertaste. Not for me!
