Rhum Attitude Chairman's Reserve Master's Selection (Rhum Attitude) 2010
Foursquare fans, this one's aimed straight at you. Blind, most tasters here peg it as a Barbados bourbon-bomb rather than a St. Lucia — lots of coconut, vanilla and caramel, a touch of glue, toasted wood and dried raisin underneath. At 61% it's round and drinkable, though a few note the alcohol could sit better on the finish. Harmonious more than complex.

How does Rhum Attitude Chairman's Reserve Master's Selection (Rhum Attitude) 2010 taste?
From community reviews · summarized with AI
Coconut-vanilla St. Lucia that drinks like Foursquare Widely liked and very easy to drink — most call it a coconut-vanilla charmer that leans Foursquare. Pot-still fans wish for the missing esters, and a few catch a metallic edge.

Surprisingly weak, or rather not typical Lucia. Blindly, I would have guessed him to be a Foursquare. The typical esters are missing. However, overall round with nice tropical notes with coconut and chocolate.

Oh, I haven't had one like this in the glass for a long time. Very dry and spicy from the nose through the palate to the finish. Blind, I would never have guessed a Chairman. The alcohol stands out a bit too much for me.

8,7:On the nose, the first impression is typical of this distillery with coconut, glue, roasted wood and its notes like nuts, caramel, some spice with vanilla and other sweet spices. The fruits are dried at first with dried apricots, raisins, then citrus with lemon peel. On aeration, molasses is stronger and vegetal, the wood, coconut toasted, the fruits yellow bourbony and there is juicy orange. 8,7:On the palate, the attack is with bourbon notes ageing like yellow, citrus fruits like orange, roasted wood, dry, with caramel, sweet spices, vanilla, nuts. Then come the dried fruits with dried dates, raisins and citrus lemon peel. The fruits become candied, sweet, there is creme brulee, brown sugar. The molasses is herbal, waxy and a bit bitter, later minty. Some glue flows underneath...Balanced and tasty. 8,6:The finish is long, as the palate notes linger on for a while. In the end, we receive some smoke and tobacco. Edit:26.1.25, 0,1 higher...

In today's comparison, the two Chairman's bottlings of Rhum Attitüde from 2008 and 2010 were both exposed to a tropical climate for 13 years. My conclusion is relatively close, but the 2008 has the edge. However, both tend more towards the Foursquare profile than the typical Chairman's profile Blind tasting would certainly have led me on the wrong track

Unusual St. Lucia with column profile: coconut, raisin, caramel, spice, wood, vanilla glue. If you like Foursquare and tropical diamonds, you'll also like this one. The price is also okay - you can take it with you.

It grabs me right at the nose. Nice rounded profile, quite close to a Foursquare, as already with the first bottling for Rhum Attitude. Lots of spices, coconut, some glue, roasted nuts, caramel and popcorn. On the palate it also strongly reminds of the 2008 bottling for Rhum Attitude. Alcohol not perfectly integrated. Slightly bitter on the finish. I like the previous bottling for Rhum Attitude a bit better.

It's my second time trying this rum. First time I was not impressed, but today for some reasons I have lots of interesting things in the nose : caramel, fruits but also very fat grilled meat and gasoline. On the palate, I lose the gasoline and instead I have more classical aromas of coconut and vanilla, but grilled meat is still there. Medium-long on peppery coconut. This is more interesting than in my memories. Quality meets the price

Not super complex, but very harmonious! A typical column still rum with lots of caramel, vanilla and coconut on the nose. Could also be a Foursquare. I like it a lot and I'm surprised at what Chairman's has up their sleeve. On the palate there is a special note that lies between alcoholic sharpness and a vegetal spice.

Looking at column SLDs: Rhum Attitude, Berry Bros, Perola. RA and BB are very column forwards. While both are nice rums, this style does not provide the profile I enjoy from SLD‘s pot stills. If you are a fan of Foursquare and similar profiles, this is for you. Very good rums without a doubt, just not my favorite out of Saint Lucia. Perola: while not a fan of Port finishes usually, this one is nicely executed. Yet it is very much overwhelming the profile (which I supsect is just not very powerful on its own, akin to the both other column bottlings). Nice bottling. Nothing I do gravitate to, however.

This rum did did sit in the glass for a good 25 minutes before the review. On the nose: Vanilla and cononut with woody and roasted notes on the background. Sweet dried fruits notes like raisin. Light alcoholic note. Taste: Vanilla, coconut and sweet notes like caramel at first. Then it gets alcoholic, spicy like peppery notes on the body. Finish: woody, peppery, coconut, caramel. Dry and alcoholic. The palate is close to Foursquare, but the integration of alcohol could have been better on taste and finish and that drops the score for me.

A distinct column still profile, which, due to the strong cask aroma, almost reminds me of a bourbon. Lots of coconut and vanilla, a bit of glue and toasted wood, plus a fine caramel base sweetness and a restrained candied fruitiness with notes of raisin, mango, and orange, as well as a hint of banana chips. I really like it, but I generally prefer the pot still expressions from St. Lucia even more.
Review by Mentalo
It's not bad, but also not particularly interesting in my eyes. More towards Foursquare with lots of coconut, some wood and chocolate. Unfortunately the alcohol is not very well integrated.
Review by Jakob
A relatively unusual release from St. Lucia, a rich coconut, vanilla, and caramel note. Close to bourbons, pleasant fruit aromas as well as well-balanced spices flank the profile and make the release very drinkable. Nice, uncomplicated mouthfeel - a drinkable Saint Lucia with compromises in complexity.
Review by Nicofr
On the nose this rum is very surprising with these coconut notes, a bit disappointed on the palate, only the vanilla and woody notes persist. The alcohol is very present though, it's a bit of a shame, but it remains decent nonetheless
Review by Buddudharma
Nice St. Lucia with typical column still markers. Very well made, nicely integrated alcohol, but I find the pot stills overall much more interesting.
Review by Martin Ekrt
I wouldn't find Chairman in the scent, I'd rather guess some Mhoba. In the taste, anyway. Weirdly sweet, profile's more like Foursquare. As a blind rum, it's pretty good, but I expect a different experience from Chairman's Master. Disappointed
Review by F.L.O.
Nice tasty chairman. Lots of wood and some fruit on the nose. Slightly leaning towards Foursquare. On the palate then much more fruit, nut and wood. Nicely balanced. Alcohol super well integrated. Fun!
Review by Papa o rhum
A nice Chairman's Reserve (Saint Lucia) aged 13 years at 61% alcohol. Selected by Rhum Attitude, a single cask with 239 bottles. 1st nose: floral / yellow fruits / fir honey. 2nd nose: solvent / spices / smoked wood / cloves / fir honey. Palate: solvent / tobacco / slight bitterness like blackcurrant / cocoa / wild pepper. Finish: woody / menthol / licorice.
Review by Rhumakase
Nose of exotic fruits (passion fruit, coconut), spices, woodiness. Lively, spicy and complex palate with notes of caramel, spices, exotic fruits (passion), medium length on spices (pepper, vanilla). Very good!
Review by Djehey
Beautiful length, alcohol very well integrated. Simple but good. And very good price. Super indulgent.

Vintage 2010. I rate it 8.3 out of 10, a very good rum.
Review by Thomas Renoud
Not the kind of chairman I like very foursquare like. Very classic bourbon, coco, vanilla, note. It dries your mouth like the umeshu liqueur finish does with the plantation Fidji. The final is long though but there's a metallic note I don't enjoy.
Review by Steffen Feddersen
There isn't much St. Lucia in this one, more Foursquare but still a lovely chairman’s rum
Review by Filip Lojín
Just a motorcade, I prefer kettles. But otherwise pretty smooth... I wouldn't buy a bottle
Review by Martin Švojgr
Very good, the profile reminds me of NewYarmouth 94.
