You have to leave it alone for a couple of minutes before putting your nose in, otherwise the alcohol is really present. But after this resting time, the nose is surprising, the maturation in Rivesaltes cask has really marked the rum, making it in the end an atypical and rather pleasant product.

La Route des Rhums Advent Calendar 2023 No. 15. This one just has a very spicy nose. On the palate also very spicy, but I find it too alcoholic, tastes a bit like fruit brandy. So-so.

Let it rest a few minutes, and you'll immediately notice the difference on the nose. For a rum over 70°, it remains interesting.

Avent 2023 no. 15 No, it's not integrated enough. Not to my taste. I know the Genesis XO which is a success, but not this one. It might be comparable to the Genesis ESB unless the signature is different as Longueteau says. Anyway, not a success for me, not enough aromas, very strong whereas at equivalent strength you find much better integrated. Some walnut, yes maybe, but not much more. But the experience is commendable overall. I'm going back to the XO, and even to the Longueteau white bdc.
