Built as a mixer but drinkable neat if you brace for the 69%, this Madeira agricole leads with fresh sugarcane, grapefruit and briny olive, with a menthol-eucalyptus edge that keeps showing up. 69°... Enough to make your jaw drop. And yet, it goes down well. Nice sweetness, but the menthol/eucalyptus aspect on the nose and palate is what really stands out for me. The finish is long, both fresh and warm (a strange contradiction, isn't it :)).

#6383 21.02.2026 Enjoying a set of samples my friend brought for us to enjoy. This was a surprisingly good rum, especially when looking at the price tag. Despite this being a mixer rum it also makes a pretty good sipper. Medium intense with nice sugarcane, cirtrus and olive and a nice log herbal finish.

The nose starts off badly, surprisingly, as a smell of gas dominates....PUIS transformation, grapefruit and lychee arrive, very fresh. On the palate, the scent is more of 69°, grapefruit and sugarcane dominate, with a slight spiciness. The freshness lingers on the palate for quite some time. A nice surprise!

Nice discovery, my first rum from Madeira. Attracted by the price, origin, and alcohol content, I was charmed by the very sugarcane side, complemented by olive and citrus. Special mention for the purely alcoholic/varnish aspect, which is very well controlled. Pleasant neat, I find it has a little less complexity in a ti’punch.

The nose is explosive and intense with notes of fermented fruit, tobacco, corn, cream, others metallic/acidic and full-bodied citrus. On the palate it is absolutely dynamite, with hints of fruit spirits, metallic and dry, others rich in pepper and citrus zest, vegetables/legumes, delicate esters and in the background some sweet cane and something fresh/mentholy that comes together in the finish along with pepper and a savory note. The finish is quite persistent. It manages to be fresh and warm at the same time, unique rum. In the empty glass fermented and oleander flowers.

Quite a surprising rum, I feel like I'm at the gas station (Diesel) :'). Luckily, that's not all there is, it's also slightly tropical fruity (Pineapple / Mango), orchard fruits (Apple / Pear) and very citrusy (Grapefruit / Mandarin / Bitter orange). It's powerful and spicy (Pepper / Anise) but well balanced with a hint of sweetness (Syrupy / Sugar cane) all enhanced by an iodized and empyreumatic dimension (Copper / Gasoline) as well as a nice vegetal side (Hay / Herbal / Menthol / Green olive in brine). A beautiful rum that’s a bit different, quite well balanced with a nice texture on the palate but lacking a bit of aromatic power and length!

Smells of lychee and a little vanilla. Rambotan pours water clear. In the mouth, theres a little licorice. This is a fun base to start with, I'll definitely look for some of their aged rums. Some floral. Long finish with some sweetness and some alcohol burn. Split thanks to Moss.
