The nose is the classic Foursquare. You can definitely tell the extra finish. On the palate you also notice the FS, but it is so wonderfully smooth. This is for me the way to appreciate rum. Original FS mostly just in bourbon casks is boring for me, so I'm glad at least an independent bottler does some experiment.

I’m a bit bothered by two separate aromas, one from the rum and one from the wine barrel; for me the finishing is overdone, it could have stayed a bit shorter in the finish. In the aroma: fruit, chocolate, coconut and exactly the wine barrel. Otherwise a good piece, warming, vanilla, chocolate, slightly smoky barrel with a pinch of spices, finish medium warming.

Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It's a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and looking for a smooth, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.
