25.09.2019 Had a nice meet up with friends at this nice hotel near the airport. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Fresh, balanced, light, light wood, citrus, light caramel, fruity, spice. Palate Light, round, light wood, fruity, citrus, light honey, oily, balanced, light chocolate, lightly sweet. Finish Medium long, light, citrus, light earthy, lightly sweet.

Savanna 1999 – 2018, 18 years, 46° - Nose: The nose is initially quite closed. Then it reveals some medicinal notes, as well as freshness with a hint of citrus zest. In the background, you can guess some underripe and stewed fruits like prune, mixed with the barrel. After a few minutes, the grape also appears. This nose does not show much of the age of the juice 5/10 - Palate: The texture is rather watery and the fruits are hard to detect. Spices and wood dominate this palate. Unfortunately, the palate is quite linear and less indulgent than the nose 4/10 - Finish: The finish focuses almost exclusively on barrel notes, with prune, grapes, and a bunch of spices (nutmeg, allspice, cardamom). It leaves a rather astringent but not unpleasant impression 6/10 - Conclusion: A rum that tries to be a bit too classic and unfortunately lacks indulgence and originality 15/30
