Third sample of the Wagemut cask language: FRENCH OAK Wonderfully mild, slightly creamy Very subtle flavor yet very tasty. There is always such a fresh taste of herbs and meadow but not too pronounced, rather in the background I like it even more than the second sample.

7,7:On the nose, the first thing we notice are yellow, citrus fruits, pear, with young oak, roasted and notes like cream toffee, brioche, spicy vanilla, round, the molasses brings slightly vegetal touch. 6,8:On the palate, the barrel impact is strong, the attack is furry, dry&tannic, the oak is nutty, resinous, spicy with ginger, cognac touch is present, citrus, green fruits make some impact, the molasses is herbaceous, grassy. 6,5:The finish is medium length, furry, dry and tannic, strong, the oak is nutty, molasses grassy, herbaceous, the fruits weak with lemon..

Wagemut barrel language No. 3 French oak. Roughly equal with No. 2. Naturally here in nose and palate also oak and the barrel to smell/taste. Finish somewhat worse than No. 2, but still okay.

French Oak Limousin: clearly more intense, fruitier, and also milder on the nose. Yellow mirabelles, Williams pear, vanilla, and some brioche with citrus marmalade come forward. On the palate, much drier than expected, but that fits cognac. Furry, astringent, and crisp tannins. Light herbal notes and lemon peel. Pleasant but clearly more demanding.

Slightly milder than American oak. But the typical fresh oak taste is of course present.
