7,5:On the nose, bourbon notes are strong with yellow fruits, the wood roasted with peanut butter, walnuts, caramel, pastry, burnt sugar, spicy vanilla, as the molasses is slightly flowery, nicely round. 6,8:On the palate, the attack is strong, quite dry and a bit tannic, bourbon notes are obvious with yellow fruits, roasted wood notes like butterscotch, spicy vanilla, dark chocolate and cocoa are there, nuts, herbaceous and flowery molasses. 6,9:The finish is medium long, dry&tannic, the molasses brings grassy, flowery notes, bourbon tones still obvious, the oak is young, nutty, with cocoa..

Wagemut Cask Speech No. 2, American oak. Definitely better than the base rum. Very intense on the nose, but of course the oak dominates here, on the palate also the cask oak is noticeable. Has a nice finish, that improved the rum for me.

Clearly drier and more intense than the base rum. Bourbon cask immediately recognizable with intense vanilla but also nutty notes, the nose almost reminds me of peanut butter. On the palate really dry, slightly herbal and cocoa emphasized. Slight nuttiness here too and clearly more roasted aromas and tannins than the base rum, resulting in a slightly longer finish. Less alcoholic and tiring as well.

Second sample of the Wagemut Fassprache: AMERICAN OAK Much better than sample number one Here, despite only 6 months of aging, you already get quite a lot of flavor in the mouth Of course, no comparison to three or four years of aging.
