A heavy spicy aroma, molasses, a little alcoholic, dark chocolate, some ester. The taste is very strong, coffee and dark chocolate, spicy and roasty.A very pleasant Navy Rum.

Oh wow, I really like this rum. You can hardly taste the 57%. It has a lovely caramel and coffee note. That's pretty much exactly my taste in rums. Excellent, I can only recommend it.

Fruity Jamaican nose. Woody and chocolaty on the palate. The finish is medium and malty. Guyana and Jamaica clearly recognvar. But not my Navy favorite. Then rather Black Tot 2020. But good P/L.

Not the best Navy style I've ever tasted, not much to say about it, it's strong, dry and lacks sweetness.

Not a bad blend either, but not quite coherent. More ester notes.

Tasted against the legendary Navy called Tiger Shark (RX183) to find out if 100 EUR price difference is justified. Answer: They are. The Kill Devil is a strange rum. Seems more like a pimped, sticky herbal liqueur on dope. Where have the Jamaica ingredients gone? If the rum wasn't just Guyana and Jamaica, but - like the Tiger Shark - it might have been halfway exciting. Not so, of course. At least the alcohol is well integrated.

I'd say you get what you pay for with this rum. Kind of a light and fruity navy style rum.

On the nose, the alcohol is well present with woody notes and ripe fruits. The attack is frank and not very surprising, the 57° are well there! A spicy, woody rum, which after aeration develops a vegetable side. A nice roundness despite everything that covers the palate well! For the price, bravo!

Very special style by the mix of Guyana and Jamaica. Personally, too much bitterness, too burnt and medicinal. The ovaries of the Jamaica share are unfortunately barely perceptible.
